Works great, the shroud takes some modifying to sit flush but easy to fix.
So to start, the only issue with installation is having to man handle the shroud a little to get it to fit flush. As stated in other reviews the tabs don't line up perfectly and take some elbow grease to do so. Other than that, super please with the installation process. As far as gains, u definitely get better throttle response with this. I live out in the mountains and was struggling with maintaining speed going up the mountains, that is no longer an issue at all. 1st time the tires spun in the xj on pavement lol. It also sounds great, u can actually hear the air being sucked into the cone and makes the jeep sound a little beefier. Theres is most definitely an increase in power, looks great under the good, functions better than i expected it to no doubt. Still getting five stars with the pain from the shroud because of the actual boost in throttle response and power. Can't beat the price either. I would definitely purchase again.

Install on 92 xj 4.0
Nice intake, fairly simple install. However, it seems the lower mounting tab was incorrectly bent for my 92. It was a simple fix, just straighten that tab and rebend where it comes off the shroud (pictured). The clamps seem slightly too big, i will be replacing those. Also on my jeep there was a second line hooked to the intake, which this setup doesnt have a spot for (pictured). It runs to an emissions canister and can simply be capped off. Overall nice intake, good build quality, looks good, and decent price. Just needs some minor adjustments to better suit my needs

Quick to install, fits and looks nicely
Anchoring / bolting points are a bit too tight

Awesome Upgrade!
Easy installation. Took some “persuasion” to get the heat shield on the bolts though. Love it and the Cherokee runs like a champ.

Nice upgrade and increase off the line
I’ve been fixing up an old XJ and I was struggling to keep speed up in the mountains on the way to snowboarding. I decided to add this prior to a larger throttle body. I was pretty skeptical at first, but I dropped it in with about 20-30 min of work. Like some people mentioned, the holes don’t line up perfectly, but it’s not hard to bend it into the right spot. I was pleasantly surprised with a decent pickup from stop and I can feel there is more power. The Jeep format shift into lower gears as often. Haven’t taken it to the hills yet or been able to check gas mileage, but at this point, I wouldn’t take it off.

Nothing fit proper on '00 XJ
Well, pulled out the old air box and got to work. Not my first rodeo with a cold air kit. Installed them on Hemis, Jeeps, et cetera. Even custom fabricated one on my old '86 XJ. And also had a custom one with a Spectre air filter on my old KJ. Like I said, not my first rodeo.I attached the weather stripping to the heat shield, and bolted it to the fender well which seemed a bit off but bolted in. Annnd, that's where things went south. The tab which was supposed to line up with the radiator support wasn't even close. OK, fabricate a small bracket with a stubby bolt and a nylon lock nut/washer. Upon attempting to assemble the air intake, every single fancy looking barrel bolt hose clamp provided bottomed out completely, and was still loose enough for the intake to fall apart, leak. or worse have beach sand end up going down the intake.Bonus Round: one of the hose clamps was either cross threaded, or a bolt was swapped metric for SAE, or vice versa. It would not tighten past the barrel nut. And it came in an apparently factory sealed plastic bag. Called Rough Country, and the gent at the other end of the line said it was Amazon's problem. Nice service, right? Extra credit for Rough Country, and even though they weren't necessary in my case, the instructions were crappy and grainy pictures with oddly placed vague captions. It really looked like they couldn't afford more toner for the laser printer. We just pointed at them and laughed over PBRs.Simply put, this kit was a $160 odd dollar box of bona fide crap and the customer service was a bad joke. Returning this grab bag o' junk, and saving the extra money for a K&N cold air kit. I suggest you don't waste your time and do the same. Yeah, didn't feel like building one this time and this is what you get for taking half measures. In summation, the product is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE and the customer service was no better. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
