Men's N-2B Short Waist Parka (XL, Black)

I'm 6'0" 175 lbs with a 44 chest and 34 waist. About 31-32" arm length. I ordered an X-large because concern that the waist and sleeves would be a bit short. As it is the waist is slightly loose. The sleeves are perfect length. The waist seems a tad short compared to most of what I wear, but this is the man's equivalent of a cropped jacket. It goes to the belt.Other reviewers have misunderstood the pockets. I have no problem with where they sit height wise. These pockets are between the insulated layer and the outer shell. You can pass your hands under the pocket through the external opening to put your hands inside the insulated layer. Apparently this was designed so Air-Force pilots could get at their pants pockets through the coat. For actually warming hands this is nice because your belly makes more heat than the pocket. Down side of this design is that strong winds might blow past pocket into coat. So far I have not had a chance to use it in sub freezing temps. but have found it warm and wind resistant. I got this one because I thought the N-3B might be overkill for PA. Not oppressively hot indoors in cool rooms for short duration. Quite light weight for its volume.The hood. Very deep compared to most coats. The fake fur is not all that soft but is warm. With the hood unzipped it is like a cape and adds warmth to the body. In windy conditions it is worth snapping the hood ends to the back underside of the collar so the hood flaps don't reach over your head. If you zip up a couple of extra inches the cape/unzipped hood functions like a scarf. If the hood is zipped into hood mode it is cumbersome in a car. I guess that's why it can unzip.Overall: Very pleased!

First of all the parka is completely different than what is expected from a jacket, it runs with hollow pockets and there are no pockets in the inner lining what was Alpha thinking about when they designed it..??The trim is glued to the hood with center zip getting stuck on it from time to time when you close the two pieced fur hood, why?Again and again the quality and price don't match, jacket is based on the MA-1 but lacks good quality and attention to detail for a winter-parka!!The jacket runs smaller and you need to order at least one size above or two to get comfortable and roomy with, especially if you have multiple thick layers underneath.Be cautious this jacket is designed short so if you are looking for a taller, look elsewhere.This jacket is not as heavy as the counter part (N-3B) but I felt toast in it and does pretty well in the cold, about 42 F.I wish the company looks over the attention to detail or this is my last purchase of Alpha Industries, although I will continue do business with amazon.My next near future purchase would most likely be Canada Goose!

Showed that it would be delivered on 23 December, arrived 12/20/21. I'm 6'3, 220 pounds. I ordered a 2XL because I like to wear a hoodie under most of my jackets and like a slightly loose fit. In Southern AZ we aren't rockin' super low overnight temps but we hit 35 degrees in the morning and this jacket all by itself is more than enough. The stitching is excellent, the jacket material is also excellent. The zippers are plastic but heavy duty enough. The pen pocket on the left sleeve has two pen caps already in place to prevent pens or mechanical pencils from poking through the jacket material. The front pockets for your hands are pass through to reach pockets on a flight suit but also have a pockets in front of the pass-through pockets to put keys or phone, etc. The wrist and waist cuff material is pretty nice as well with excellent elasticity. The hood is line with artificial fur and faux fur coyote brim. It's warm. The hood unzips and can be buttoned back to prevent the hood from sliding forward on the shoulders. I can't wait for the Sage Green ones to come back in stock in my size.

Pockets too high, cannot even use the pockets. It runs very tight at the arms. I regreted buying mine mostly because the side pockets are so high up I cannot even reach them to rest and place my hands in for warmth. The second main problem are the arms being too tight. I should have gotten mine two sizes larger, as it runs small, but even if I did, I know that the pockets would still be too high, but I worry also that the length would be longer than i like. Too bad, because I love everything else about the coat. If I find a relative or friend who wears small, I will give this to them as a gift. They will love it, but they will not like that even a small man will not be able to reach the very high side pockets, but at least he could wear it. Too bad, smooch potential in this most stylish coat. I even found it warmer than the thinness would have you guess. The waist, sleeves, hood, hold and stay very close to the skin and keep any cold air at all from coming inside. Pockets not useful, runs two sizes to small. Too bad.

Following MA-1 BLOOD CHIT, it is purchased from Japan.I received it in 11 days after placing an order. (There was a trouble in domestic delivery, I received it with a delay of 3 days)The packaging was very polite, all buttons and zipper tabs were protected with paper.The zipper is made of nylon, with tabs of black leather. Hood boa and fur are cheep. Fur can not be removed.The pocket is penetrating. The color is GUN METAL, and the real color looks darker than the picture.Batting is thicker than MA - 1, it looks warm. (I look forward to winter coming!My height is 171 cm, weight 73 kg, a little thick.It is usually Japanese size L or US size M with plenty of room.This time the order is regular size M size. (Not ASIAN FIT)The fit is just fit, and it is small for US size. It is not likely to be possible to wear a thick sweater.ALPHA MA-1, regular S size is about the same comfort. When I want to wear comfortably I think that one size upper is necessary.We recommend that you try on it in advance as much as possible.And important thing, of course, in the pocket of the left sleeve, the red key ring of "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" is attached firmly!

When I first saw this item I was skeptical as the price for a sage green XL N2b was listed brand new for £96 + pp. I checked and other sizes where listed for £130+ so I saw it as a deal. I then checked by Comparing to alpha industries website and was very similar but the only downside is there are not enough pictures of the coat and it's functions.However I ordered it and due to me living in the UK it had to be shipped all the way from california so the shipping days was 17 days. It arrived within 10 days which was amazing as way faster then expected.Now what really impressed me was when I open and tried the coat on it fit perfectly for a male of my size 6'3 190lbs/86kg and it has plenty of room as I was worried it might be too small due to other reviews saying not to upside but I would definitely recommend to upsize. The coat came with everything an alpha industries jacket has the red flight tag, metal zippers, zip down hood etc. All the works. This N2b is amazing and will be looking to get another in the future!

Excellent quick service . Good quality product

This is the second jacket from Alpha Industries I've bought. The fit and feel is excellent on this one and does a good job keeping you warm. Looks very cool and stylish but is not over the top like many other name brand designer jackets can get with accessories and random designer bling dangling everywhere. Not sure how well it will perform during Canadian winter but overall I am very happy with it. Would definitely buy another jacket from Alpha Industries.

My second Alpha jacket and as expected the quality is superb. I would not call it a parka, just a warm bomber jacket with hood. So far I've been outside at -20C with only a shirt underneath and feels warm. The hood is big and cozy. Not sure about usefulness of those "pass through' front pockets" but that's a minor detail.I definitely recommend this jacket.

Gave it a 4 because of a long narrow aperture in the pockets, design not good for Canadian winter but I covered from the inside with an industrial tape and it did the trick. Love the stylish design and quality. When zipper all the way up you feel totally protected from the wind and cold temperatures. Tried on a -25 to -30 Celsius and it kept me warm and comfortable.
