Rust Converter and Primer - Quart (32 Ounce) - One-Step to Remove Rust and Prime Surface

I am very happy with the turn out on this product. It does what it says on the bottle. Watch the video on youtube that they have about it. It works just like that. I used it on frame of my truck & it works great, after cleaning the frame with wire brushes, scrapers, sand paper & power tools. I live in a place where they use a lot of salt on the roads & I let it get pretty bad, so I had alot of cleaning up before I applied the Rust Converter, In some spots, I went over it twice in sum spots,after I let the first coat dry but if you catch it early enough, its going to save you a lot of time, work & money. This was the first chemical that I used on rust & I thought it did good, I did sum research on it before I bought it & it looked like it worked & was easy to use & all I can say is its true & I am happy with the results!

follow the instructions. The product works well, will turn cleaned rust to a black oxide. rust needs to be brushed or somewhat cleaned, does not have to be cleaned to bare metal. Will only treat the top layer, if applied to flaky rust only the top layer will be treated. Once that layer flakes off or is brushed the layer underneath will not have been treated.This is not an encapsulating product and thus the loose rust must be removed for best results.

As good as Eastwood brand, works as advertised. This will not fix your flaking rust bucket of a car - but it will treat surface rust very well. Any major rustouts will still need to be cut out - any rust that this cannot penetrate will come back. I mostly use this to treat minor rust and to prevent future rust whenever I cut body surfaces or remove paint for any reason. It also works great on some patio furniture.I sprayed it (it's hard to spray) on the entire underbody of my RAM truck, and I feel that it arrested the rust for a few years.It is important to thoroughly wash your brush or whatever tool you use - it hardens like glue.

Mine came half solidified, but used the remaining and it worked pretty good. I would buy again locally if I could feel the bottle. Would've given four stars, but didn't like the fact I could only use half.

So far so good, rust was effectively neutralized easy clean up with water.

This stuff is awesome. Easy to use and needs little prep. I got carried away and used it on a bunch of stuff lol. First I used on my jeep. Had a couple of rust spots. First I took a wire brush on a drill and knocked off paint chip (loose paint) and then did minor brushing on rust. Just to thin it down and remove any loose rust. Then washed it. Then applied rust converter with paint brush. Turned black in about an hour. Which is perfect cause the jeep is black. But then I used on my deer stand, shipping containers, and alot more rusty metal laying around. On one of my old 22s that was covered in rust now completely black and looks brand new. I bought another gallon to do a few other things.

This stuff works pretty well, it did not convert the rust as well as I thought it would but it made one heck of a paintable coating. I might have used it in a little too cool of weather (about 55-60F). I will try it again after it warms up. I want to say this though: ADCOAT has the best customer service I have dealt with in a long, long time. Really great people who stand behind their product and take time to actually help you understand the technicalities... Good product and great service!

I removed all surface rust with hours of sanding and grinding. Then I thoroughly cleaned the surface. After the application, the surface started to rust again. I got some POR 15 and applied it over the same surface and it worked perfectly.
