This "cat flap" (as I call it) works very well. Our cat was waking us up every night when he wanted to go outside. Now he can simply come and go as he pleases. I put a chair by the inside of the window with a towel on it so that his feet get wiped as he comes in. Outside I have a plastic step to give him easy access to the raised window.The "flap" itself is pretty solid and does take some pressure to open. My cat prefers to put a foot through first, and then his face. I've had one before with a softer opening (in a different location) but it only took a minute to get my cat reacquainted with using this one.This will accommodate a larger cat. Mine is a tall, fairly lean and long 15 lb cat who gets up to 17 lbs at times.This cat door also allows us to leave for a few days without having someone care for the cat. He comes and goes freely, and has access to his food and water. I do have stray cats in the area, but my higher privacy fence seems to keep them out of the little gated area behind my condo. However, it is always possible for another animal to figure out how to use the cat door if they see my cat using it. So far, so good. My cat also defends his territory so we should be fine.The installation literally takes minutes to do. Just make sure you get the correct size for your window. Once installed, you will no longer be able to open and close that window freely. Also, you'll want to place a small stick of wood in along the side of the window above the pet sash for security reasons, so that a person cannot just push the window up from the outside to break in.I hope you buy this product if you have an indoor/outdoor cat or small dog. It will save you a lot of time and interrupted sleep without having to constantly cater to your pet, and allows you more freedom to be gone for a day or two if need be. Your pet will also be much more content knowing they can freely come and go.

Received & installed this thing today & I am SOOOO Pleased. Well worth the price.I moved into old house with no sliding door so couldn't use my old kitty door for sliding doors any longer. Have been dealing with opening & closing the front door for my kitty for months & so tired of it. Bugs getting into the house all the time & now with the warmer weather arriving I'll lose all my air-conditioned air. I was so excited when I found this for the window. It works wonderfully. SO very easy to install. There is a video on You Tube for installation if you need also. but it took minutes. No tools needed but measuring tape & scissors.Kitty caught on quickly. She's still a little skeptical but she's using it (albeit a little reluctantly today). I'm sure if she gets desperate enough to go chase flying things & eat bugs, she'll be a pro at this window in no time. I just have to refuse to open the front door for her. I did have to get a little table for her to climb on both inside the house & right outside the window, so she can be close to eye level with the kitty window opening. But that's not a problem.I got the med. sized kitty window for my house window which is 28.5 inches wide. It fit perfectly. My kitty weighs 11 lbs & she fits through the opening easily.It's very solid & secure also. I just put a window lock on the top of the window that sits on the kitty window set & it's locked in solidly. I feel quite safe & secure with it in place. Would highly recommend.

This is the best thing I have bought in years. It fits in a window, so no cutting a hole in a door. The cats had no problem learning to go in and out through it.

First one arrived with a bent frame that prevented it from opening. Returned that one and the replacement was good.Fits window well. Easy to install.

I’ve been using this for six months. Needed to transmission our cat from inside full time to outside full time, but wanted her to have access to our garage for food and heated cathouse to keep her warm in extreme winter cold. She figured out the cat door without problem and now comes and goes as she pleases. The door installed easily and has a sturdy plastic door with a nice gasket and magnetic catch which keeps the door closed and centered to prevent drafts. I haven’t noticed that our garage is any colder than usual, although I’m sure we’d notice it if this were installed in a window on our house. It’s perfect for our garage, though. Quality construction and reasonably priced.

I got this to use in my screen door instead of a window. It was very easy for me to put together and insert into the opening of the screen door. It keeps the flies out unlike just leaving a window for my cat to go in and out.It has a nice appearance and the locking feature is great. My cat has already started to use the cat door to go in and out on her own. All you have to do is measure the opening where you want to use the cat door. This is definitely a keeper.

The media could not be loaded. Work great. It took a few weeks to get my kitten trained to use it. She loves it now and uses it day and night to go outside. It is easy to assembe. I did, for extra protection from a window being raised by someone, add dowel-rods cut to size to prevent the window from being opened by someone. I added felt pads on each end to prevent scratches on the window seals. Great product for a great price.
