Good 1/2 inch waffles for the price
Good little 1/2 inch waffle maker for the price. You are not going to have those pretty golden all over 1-1.5 inch waffles from this machine; you will need to buy one of the fancy ones for that. I believe my new waffle iron is working as designed, however I had to take some additional steps to get a decent waffle that was slightly crispy outside, at least 1/2 inch thick and sufficiently brown.First, the measure cup provided does not have a sufficient amount of batter (in my opinion) to make a good 1/2 inch waffle, especially when some of the batter clings to the cup. So I used about 1.5 of the provided measuring cups of batter so that batter fully covered the bottom before I closed the lid. You will get that extra edge around the waffle where a little of the batter goes to overflow. (see my pics)Instructions say brush with oil before using....just use a very very very light brushing of oil (and do not repeat the application). I thought I went light, but my first waffle was icky white. Honestly, this waffle maker looks like nothing is going to stick even without the oil so I may try it 'oil less' next time.Set the browner to max. When set at max it got it brown enough with a little outside crisp (but not that nice even golden brown all over. not sure that is possible with this waffle maker, despite the photographs they provide)Make sure you close the lid and get it back to temp (so the green light is on again) before starting the next waffle.I also used this belgian waffle recipe I found on the web that I thought was quite good:Mix dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients. Mix wet and dry ingredients (but just until blended. There can be lumps)Important**Let sit for 30 minutes before using**DRY3/4 cup flour1/4 cup cornstarch1/4 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp salt1 1/2 tsp sugarmy addition is anoptional whisper of nutmegand 1/8 tsp cinnamonWET1 cup butter milk1/3 cup veg oil1 egg3/4 tsp vanilla

The lock is problematic & explodes open
This waffle iron has a lock on the front but when steam builds as the waffle cooks the lock sort of explodes open …quite dangerous.

Good waffle iron, great price
Used this as soon as I got it. I was looking for a waffle iron at a decent price point, because ultimately, the end result of cooking a waffle is the same and I'm not going to spend more for unnecessary features.Pros:Easy to useGood size for storing, not bulkyVery reasonably pricedDeep cooking pocketComes with a ladle that helps you measure the perfect amount of the machine (I neglected to use it, but will use it next time)Cons:I took the deep pocket a little too literal, because my first waffle started overflowing out of the machine. I learned that it's not really that deep. There is a dial that you can adjust and It will take a few tries to learn the right dial location to cook YOUR perfect waffle. Overall, I really like this and am happy with my purchase.

The Proctor Silex Belgian Style Waffle Maker is a great buy for the price
The Proctor Silex Belgian Style Waffle Maker is a great buy for the price. It gets the job done and is compact enough to store easily. A few tips from my personal usage of the product 1) If steam is coming out of the side do not worry. The waffle is not burning, you can trust the sensor on the top. 2)Use the measuring cup in the package to fill the waffle maker. I didn't trust it and added more mix thinking that there was not enough and ended up having batter overflow (Waffle makers by nature are not the easiest thing in the world to clean)...rookie mistake. Overall I would recommend the waffle maker for a simple yet effective design (in addition to being very affordable).

Great waffle maker!
Just made our first waffles with this. Took less than six minutes to warm up and three minutes until done with a setting of 3/4 turn towards max. I used the Weekend Waffles recipe that was in the instruction book and followed all their prep instructions. No sticking at all and the waffles were delicious. It states Belgian waffle style but the waffles are actually somewhere in-between a regular thin waffle and a Belgian which I consider a perfect thickness. What I also love about this waffle maker is that it is impossible to over flow outside of the unit and if it did, no harm to the unit. I have had two Cuisinart waffle makers and I killed both of them due to over flow. Once the Cuisinart over flowed the design flaw allowed the waffle mix to leak inside all over the internal wiring components. Wasn't about to purchase a third one. Now let's see how long this little gem lasts.

Decent wafflemaker for the low price
We've used this maybe half a dozen times so far and for the price it's a decent waffle maker. The waffle will only stay crunchy for the first minute you put it on the plate, but my family is happy with the results. I love that you don't have to oil it beforehand. You truly can just pour the batter on and the indicator light will light up when it's ready. I usually set it to almost the max temperature to get the ideal waffle. I do wish it would create a more crunchy bite, but for the price we're happy. The handy batter measure is very accurate as well.

I used a from scratch recipe and the waffles came out easily. After 1 waffle
I first used this waffle maker yesterday, so not a lot of experience, but it worked flawlessly. I used a from scratch recipe and the waffles came out easily. After 1 waffle, I ignored the green light and just timed for 5 minutes and opened it when the steaming stopped - perfect. I put the dial about 3 quarters to the maximum. So easy, I wish I had had one years ago. It is very, very easy to clean, too.To those who think you need more instruction about using it, no need. It is about as easy as you can get.It gets quite hot so don't let little kids too near while it is in use. I love it! Looking forward to using it every week.

Will it waffle? This one sure does !!
Since the product came from USA I had to wait a bit for it but it was well worth the wait. The waffle maker came well packed. I used a ready made waffle mix for the first time (Betty Crocker) and the waffles came out perfectly. It took about 3-5 minutes to heat up and about 3-4 minutes for the waffle to get ready. I cooked it on the mid setting and it came out a little blonde for me, so the next waffle I turned the setting about 3/4th mark and the result was a beautiful waffle crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My children have not stopped eating waffles since !! I have used other brands both local and foreign but I found this waffle maker to be amazing. The special coating makes cleaning up so easy, just need to wait for it to cool down and wipe with a damp cloth and dry. The next time I tried the recipe from the booklet - Cinnamon Raisin Waffles and they came out excellent. Since there is no limit to 'waffling' these days with Pinterest giving you so many ideas - this waffle maker is going to be well worth its price !

Wafles deliciosos
