Easy to set-up, nice display, does what it says
Works flawlessly with my Ambient Weather WS-3000-X5 unit, enabling me to remotely access and view data from my 6 transmitters. Very crisp display and backlight. It was easy to set up, and with about two months of use I've had no issues whatsoever.

IFTTT compatible! Sorta Google Assistant compatible
This little WiFi enabled indoor/outdoor thermometer is underrated! Use it with IFTTT to control your smart lights and plugs, without hanging yet another smart device hub from your router.Positives: The outdoor temp/humidity sensor has a display to confirm it's working, and seems like it will hold up well on my porch (use Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAs for cold temps). The console (indoor) device is slightly larger than a deck of cards, with easily readable numbers and an on/off backlight. It's a nice addition to a kitchen, desk, or bed stand, and looks just like my old indoor/outdoor thermometer, but it has hidden superpowers! Easy, free setup on ambientweather.net once it's connected to your 2.4GHz home WiFi network, and from there you can monitor your readings in real time, see historical graphs, and link to IFTTT, Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.Dislikes: The Google Assistant integration is goofy. You can't just ask for the temperature, first you have to say "Hey Google, launch Ambient Weather" then you can ask. Also, Grandma won't be able to set this up without your help. Out of the box, the WiFi seemed to be dead. The console is supposed to broadcast a "AMBWeather-WiFi" network you connect to on your phone, then use their "awnet" app to configure it to connect to your home WiFi network. To Ambient Weather's credit, their support phone line answered right away, and the support rep tried super hard, but after 25 minutes concluded I needed to return the device. Once I hung up, I noticed a RESET hole on the back of the console. Poked it with a paper clip, and boom, its WiFi network started broadcasting and the rest of my setup went seamlessly.Bottom line: If you can set up a WiFi router, you can set this up, but it might take you a couple tries. A nice monitoring alternative to smart thermostats for us folks who can't replace their thermostats. Excellent option for controlling smart lights and plugs (tested with IFTTT and TP-Link Kasa WiFi smart plugs) as well as monitoring of remote properties through ambientweather.net alerts and IFTTT calls/texts. I've only had it briefly, but I'll report back with any reliability issues.

Works very well
We got this to monitor fridge/freezer temps and alert us if they are too high. It works well. As others have noted there is one app to initially configure it (awnet) and a second app (Ambient Weather) to interact with it.You can set up thresholds and have it alert you via email or SMS, which is nice.Make sure to read the directions, a lot of the negative reviews seem to be those who have not done so.I'm using 8 remote units with this (the max supported) and they all seem to be accurate.

Easy to setup but mine is far from accurate
I really wanted to like this little guy. The unit is small yet the display is big enough to read easily. Comes with an AC adapter included so you don't have to keep replacing batteries in the base. Has an external sensor on a 3 foot cable to make sure the base doesn't influence the temp readings. All that is great but the included outdoor sensor is far from accurate. The small thermometer in the picture matches readings perfectly with my home thermostat and another digital thermostat. After allowing the outdoor sensor to adjust to the temp for about ten minutes I took this picture. 9.1 degrees off. Maybe I just got a defective sensor. The ability to connect this unit to wifi and upload your weather data to personal weather station websites is a huge plus at this price point. I would love to see more reviews to know if my results are typical or not. Unit is reporting temperatures that are too far off from other personal weather stations in my area so that it fails Weather Undergrounds quality check. Unit will not upload to Weather Underground because of this.

Could not make it work
This appears to be a very well constructed device but I spent two hours and made three start-from-scratch attempts to link it to the related app on my phone. After following the way-too-many steps three times and being told each time that each step had been completed successfully, the device would not stay connected to the internet. This made remote monitoring impossible which was the point of my purchase. There are so many steps to making this thing work that I'm not willing to try again with a second device and am returning it for a refund.

Accurate device, but you need to read the directions
Pay attention to the specifications when purchasing. The unit was much smaller than I expected. It fits easily in the palm of my hand. The unit is very accurate at measuring temperature. I did have to move the remote probe once to get better outdoor readings. I did not follow the directions. Speaking of directions you need to follow them and the do work. Steps need to be done in a specific order. I do like that this unit connects to my Wi-Fi directly. I did not need a pc to connect with like some units. You can use a smartphone instead. The catch is there is one application to configure and a second application to monitor. It can be confusing if you don't read the directions. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Set up process wonkier than it needed to be; but rock-solid reliable once set up
While the set-up process is not as smooth as it should/could be, once you get through that, this device is rock-solid reliable. I use it to remotely monitor the temperature in my ailing mom's household to be sure it's comfortable there, and it works phenomenally, reliably, with near-real-time temperature updates.
