Much tougher than I expecred.
I have a walk behind 6HP string mower that uses .155 line. I bought a roll of triangle yellow Ugly nylon style line from Sears 14 years ago when I got and that 100 ft. roll lasted a long time, but breakage and slip out was always a problem. It was soft, easy ro bend, and didn't really seat securely under the head clips. I thought this was just normal. I finally ran out. But after getting this Oreon Magnum line, my whole thought about .155 line changed. This is much much stiffer, thicker, a true square cut, and unless you hit actual small trees, does not break or pull out every 5 minutes. I beat the bonkers out of this stuff. If you hit small trees, it takes a beating but will break, but with protest It has a core you can clearly see. I am very amazed about how well this .155 line works. Some people mention getting .170 line for walk behind weeders. I imagine it would work real well if you could get it to insert by using a torch to soften the bend, but this .155 line fits quite tightly and securely. Not sure if .170 would pull into the head hooks. This .155 takes a pretty stiff pull and bend and to seat. Regarding using .170, you do need to have a limit on how much stress you put on the mower head. The replacement for a DR style trimmer head is close to $100. Secondly, the current price for this .155 for the amount you get is unbeatable. This roll is very big and will last till you die! It's a great buy currently. Not sure if the Platnum is as good from reading the reviews. But this stuff is impressive and still safe.

Works great on brush
Heavy duty, thick line. I use it for a walk behind string trimmer. It's able to cut brush and small trees coming up easily. No issues with losing line when hitting objects; other than fencing. It holds up better when accidentally hitting fencing than most, but will get flung out if the line has been used for a while.

Good, long lasting stuff!
Very durable. This is a premium product, and has outlasted every other line that I have tried. I installed this line on a 6.5 hp high wheel trimmer, and I can now trim for over 30 minutes without stopping to replace the line. I was getting about 10 minutes of line life from another premium brand of line on the same machine. This takes out any grass, and smaller diameter woody plant life with ease. Be careful if using around a lightweight wood fence, as this line will nibble on soft wood fences or remove paint from your fence. The only things that cause much wear to this line are steel posts and concrete. It is a good idea to store any unused line away from sunlight, as UV light will weaken the plastic and result in shorter line life.

Very strong line
Like other .155 line, this stuff is quite tough. If you use it on normal grass and weeds, it hardly wears at all. Do not let it hit wire, but that is true for any line. You can only use it on the big wheeled 'lawnmower-style' weed eaters. It also chews into thick heavy star thistle, blackberries (even 3/4"), and really thick bunch grass, although the mower engine will lug down on the super thick stuff, so you have to go slower there. The one thing that can happen is it can get yanked out. In normal use that does not happen, but just don't let it hit a wire fence.

This trimmer line is absolutely the best I have ever used
This trimmer line is absolutely the best I have ever used, I have a Sear Craftsman 6.0hp walk behind trimmer. It went though grass 4ft tall without bogging down, or tangling up. Still using the initial line I put on I then it went through blackberry vines line butter both new and old growth, it even cut though 1/4" scotch broom after 4 hours of pretty tough cutting were the line hit against chain link fencing, metal siding, base of trees, and large rocks the line show little wear. The heavy duty orange, and green line I have used in the past would have required me to change it at least 5-6 times.if not more. The next day I had the teenager i hired to help out with yard work run the trimmer, after 6 hours of cutting 4ft tall quack grass, and what I call swamp grass the initial line I had first put on was only worn down 2". Still plenty to go before it will need changing. I will be passing this down to my grand kids at the rate I am going through it. Great stuff you will not be disappointed with it.

Best weedeater string I have purchased
First of all you get a big roll of this stuff and it is heavy. You are getting your moneys worth in quanity. I was late cutting grass this year because of all the rain we have had in Alabama this year. When I figured out I couldnt see the edges of our little running branch I was afraid to run the John Deere lawn tractor close to the banks. I drug out the big guns, the Heavy as all get out Black and Decker rolling weedeater. I put new string in it, lasted about 5 minutes. More string, five minutes. Its a real bugger to put sting in, it was tearing up faster than I was replacing the cord. I came in the house and started looking a .155 weedeater cord. This was not the cheapest, but it was not the most expensive, it was the absolute best. I went back at it again this morning and cut for almost an hour on the creek bank. I got give out and tired of fighting the biting flies, but the cord is still on. I am 70 and I know a good deal, this is a good deal.
