Large Digit Timer (Blue)

Well, it keeps time. Not much more value however. Kinda interesting ... almost all these timers(NOT ALL) in spite of magnetic backs, and stands, are TWO HANDED operations - that is, you have to hold it with one hand while you set it/stop it with the other hand. Useless for quick/fast work in a kitchen. This one, and others similar, don't 'magnetic' too well, hit the floor, and the flimsy back bracket/stand is then shot. Bought three - all three broken in less than 2 weeks. Others, that lay flat on the counter - cannot be operated one-handed, as they tilt and squirm if you try that - two hands only. Been cooking in a professional kitchen for 30+ years - WHERE OH WHERE (or WHEN) can we get a remake of the West Bend 3 channel timer ... different beeps for each channel, lays flat for one handed use, and re-sets to the previous time. We can hope. Next best thing? Kitchen aid digital - you know the one - (all of these are the same timer) - Teal/9.99 - Black/12.99 - Red/15.66 - Blue/14.99 - White/21.75. I guess in timing, color does make a difference.

I ordered this for our special needs son that understands things better visually than verbally. I'll be the first to admit that at time he had this in his room by himself so it is completely plausible that it may been dropped a few times or something. After having it for only about 2 weeks it doesn't work right anymore. The buttons gets stuck and it almost seems like the battery has gone bad, but I've changed it out so I know that's not what it is. Before this it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like about it was that you couldn't change the volume on the timer and it's pretty loud.

I like the fact that this timer has nice big numbers so it is easy to read the minutes and seconds. The only reason I did not rate it higher is that one of the buttons is already out of line. The timer still works, but I wonder for how long. I have purchased other timers that did not have this issue, so would likely go with them in the future.

I needed a timer with a loud sound when my time was finished. This has that. It is has large digits and is easy to set. My only complaint: this timer lacks one nice feature from my older (no longer available) timer. The magnet of this Large Digit Timer is on a strip running down the middle third of the device. So, when stick it on my refrigerator and press the Minute or the Start/Stop button, the timer rocks back and feels like it could easily fall off.

The blue color is one of our school colors. The numbers are in a large text, so any student can see them at their computers. They come with their own batteries...I ordered seven of them for my READ 180 computer station, and they are working out beautifully!

Do not purchase this item. The buttons barely worked from out of the box. The noise the timer makes sounds like it's battery is as old as time. Not even worth wasting the time trying to return it.REVISED: The Seller contacted me and was nice enough to give me a credit without my having to return the item, as I had thrown away the packaging.

The size and shape is very nice. But I am a personal trainer and use the timer for quick off and on use. I found that the start button on all 4 timers would get stuck and often times I had to punch it 2-3 times before it would start again...for me this timer was not that good we dont use them at my gym now.

I would give a higher rating but the stand mechanism could be much better.Does a great job other wise. Worth the price...
