Great Product!!
I have used this Kreg hinge jig to bore holes in 12 new vanity doors and have found it to be an excellent tool. The bit is very sharp, holds a good edge and makes a clean cut. Instructions are clear, ease of set up is good and off-set cams work well. Bore holes are concise and repeatable. I would highly recommend this jig and would purchase again if necessary.

Works exactly as needed
Purchased a house. Cabinets are in good shape, but faces were very dated.Ordered new faces, painted them. Needed to add hingesThis made life real easy. Did close to 50 cabinet faces and didn't skip a beatAll the holes were consistent, so that even made pre drilling the mounting holes in the cabinets easy.Brough the kitchen out of the late 80s and really modernized it for extremely reasonable money

close tolerances in unit
The two unit parts fit together with close tolerances which is good; however, this also lends itself to problems with chips interfering with their coming together. Be sure to blow out the chips between positioning. Unit could be improved by adding storage for the 1/16 " screw positioning bit but consumer can drill their own hole for this. Same could be said for the allen wrench which would help keep all the parts together in storage. Unit worked well and easily attached to my workmate clamping both the jig unit and door securely with the large clamp provided in my package.

Works good, nothing fancy, great for a hobbyist or a DYI'er.

Major Design Flaw in this Product
The concept is good but the issue is the material used. There is a plastic collar which holds a forstner bit (much like a drill guide) which produces the mortised hole for the hinge to sit in. There are also tiny drill guides offset from this main opening to drill pilot holes for the screws/plugs which actually secure the hinge to the panel. The issue is, that when drilling the major hole, the forstner bit generates heat and this eventually melts and distorts the plastic collar which holds it! I drilled only 8-9 holes before realizing the bit was off-center in the plastic shaft! As hinge jigs rely on total precision of placement, this is obviously an issue!Furthermore, I also started noticing that the little pilot holes for the screws--produced using the guides in the main jig body--were way off as well. When I placed the hinge in the mortised hole and prepared to screw it in, the pilot holes would be barely visible through the holes in the actual metal flanges of the hinge, let alone centered in those holes! I stopped using those guides immediately and just drilled the pilot holes with the hinge in place in the door panel via eyeball. THOSE holes were much more accurate, even though I was just eyeballing them through the hole openings (they were way too small a diameter to use a self-centering hinge bit).Again, this thing started melting and distorting after about 8-9 hinge holes over the course of 2 days!Kreg makes some good products, but this one has major issues because of the plastic used. The face clamp worked great, although you really need two of them for this jig.I'm going to request a refund for this and purchase an all-metal jig here on Amazon...

easy set up and accurate. makes drilling new doors SUPER EASY!
Another brilliant product by Kreg! i wanted ease of use and accuracy as I had just finished making my own shaker doors and cabinets for a new laundry room. I got exactly what I wanted in this jig by Kreg. Super easy set up, easily reproduceable results and a very professional end product. No one can believe I did the doors myself. I got the jig with one Kreg clamp which holds the jig exactly where you need it to be. Very secure and a solid feeling jig that i will be able to use for plenty of more doors in the future. You could probably use a shop clamp, but for the price of the Kreg clamp, well worth it. And, I can never have enough clamps. Highly recommend another Kreg concealed hinge jig!

This jig makes quick work of installing hinges
We were doing a kitchen remodel and needed to install euro-style hinges on 23 cabinet doors. The Kreg jig made quick work of the process. Overall it took less than 3 hours to install 56 hinges on the doors by myself. The jig provided perfect placement of every hole (including the screw holes). The only issue I have with the product is that the collar stop to manage the pocket depth wasnt able to set low enough for my doors. However, a couple of nylon washers added between the stop and the cage that covers the forsner bit fixed that and allowed me to get a near perfect depth on every hole drilled.I would definitely recommend this jig to anyone looking to install the euro-hinges on their kitchen or bathroom cabinets.
