So far, we love everything about this vacuum. I'm blown away by the power/suction it has. Not only does it pick up everything off of a rug, but also wood and linoleum floors (which is what we have mostly) but we use those vacuum-seal bags to store off-season clothes and linens and it sucks so much more air out sooo quickly! Our old vacuum was so lame compared to this one. But we have a big rug and a runner, and probably getting more rugs later. I like the fact that you can take the small canister off and use the extension wand to clean corners and up above on the ceiling (we have fairly high ceilings). It's also very lightweight and doesn't take up a lot of space. It fits in a cupboard we bought to store it, that is 16"x16"x 6'. We've only had it for a month, but our son and his girlfriend bought the vacuum and I went to look at it before we ordered it and they've had it for a few months and have no complaints about it. I'm really happy we spent a little extra to get this one. We haven't used it a lot, so haven't had to empty the canister yet, but my son showed me how to do it and it looks like a breeze. The other thing, is that it does pull easier than push and we're vacuuming a .5" pile carpet. Of course on the wood/linoleum floors, no problems. The one thing I was not happy about is that I tried to call the Customer Service number 15 min. before their posted closing time and they were closed and when I sent them an email it bounced. I've not yet pursued that, but I will. My son said they had no problems with them when they discovered they were missing one of the brushes and it was sent to them.. We also didn't get the pet brush that was supposed to come with it, but we don't have any pets, so not an issue for us. Overall, I'd say that this is a great product and with the short time we've had it, we like it.

Why would you ship an American Hoover to the UK knowing its not compatible. Waste of time and now I'm expected to pay the return costs. Not Happy

I never knew vacuums could actually suck everything up until I got this wonderful piece of technology. I have pretty low standards for vacuums since my childhood as my family is super keen on buying the most budget friendly options: all we were really getting was a plastic body on wheels that made loud noises when plugged in. The last vacuum I owned was a $30 piece of **cat poop** (Dirt Devil brand I think) that made more of a mess than sucking anything up. I have two cats, and two cats means lots and lots of cat hair as well as cat litter. When I moved out of my old apartment into my new one which has carpet, I decided it was time to invest in a better vacuum. Cue the google search for the "best pet vacuum" and this miracle solution popped up. As a poor college student, this vacuum was in a price range that was relatively comfortable for me. I'm not willing to shell out $500+ for a decent vacuum! But oh my god, the moment I turned this thing on (after I fixed a little problem *see note below*), I just knew that this would be the answer to all of my prayers. It sucked up everything no problem. There was no longer a case of cat litter pelting my ankles, and cat hair has finally met its match. I was able to clean a cat condo tower and make it look almost BRAND SPANKIN NEW. My boyfriend even asked me if I had gotten a new one! I ran it over the carpet in my bedroom (I had just moved in, so they should have been cleaned already) and this thing sucked up a whole container of dust/dirt! A WHOLE CONTAINER!! Of a supposedly clean carpet!! I just can't. I really cannot believe the joy this vacuum has brought into my life. It is so cost friendly, so efficient, so AMAZING I just wonder where has this thing been all of my life (*flashback to a time when I actually thought it was acceptable/the usual thing to do to lint roll after vacuuming to pickup the crumbs left over* smh). I'm not a person to really brag about anything, much less a vacuum, but I have been raving about this to all of my friends, especially the ones with pets who shed a lot. I still can't believe the suction power on this thing. Shark... you are amazing. **On a side note, if anyone's vacuum isn't having much suction power, you may have done what I accidentally did when I first put it together and that was to hook up the lower tube wrong. It's been a while so I've forgotten exactly what happened, but I think the lowest tube that connects the "mouth" and the "body" of the vacuum wasn't connected right, or not connected at all so when I first started to vacuum with it, it wasn't really impressing me. But when I noticed the tube looked weird and plugged it in right, boy did that make a WORLD of a difference. So make sure everything is connected properly people! This thing is seriously amazing. I just can't say it enough.

Warning, it's a long read, but I wanted to go into deep detail. To start, I have been a Rainbow vacuum user for so long. I love them and felt they worked amazingly. Next, I have 3 dogs & a cat. One is a thick coat lab and the cat sheds so much as well. Another next, I have horrible allergies and wanted something that would help keep them calm as well. I also have a lung disease and need something that will pick up as much junk as possible to keep them clear. Now, on to the Shark vacuum. I got tired of lugging around the Rainbow and wanted to look into a vacuum that my daughter could use and help out. I found this Shark vacuum and 6 others that grabbed my attention. I dug deep. I read through every review, good, bad, indifferent. I wanted a vacuum that was going to truly pick up pet hair/dander, as well as pick up sand & dirt. I was drawn to this specific vacuum saying pet & allergen vacuum and loved that so many of the reviews said it had amazing suction power. I thought there's no way ut can be as amazing as most were raving about. After 2 months of digging and narrowing down vacuums, I was left with this one. I finally decided to purchase it and see what all the fuss was about. It came in today and I immediately out it together to the it out. I had just vacuumed with my Rainbow vacuum 2 days before, so I didn't expect much. Oh....my....gosh...! I am blown away! Seriously, no joke! The picture you see attached was after 2 passes over a 2' x 2' area in my living room. Not kidding...pushed it forward, pulled it back. Did this one other time. I was completely astonished! There is no way my carpet is that dirty after using my Rainbow 2 days before! I swore by that vacuum and how great of a job it did, so I thought. This vacuum pulled out dirt, sand, pet fur from 3 families ago, it seems lol. I immediately took this picture and dumped the resivoir since it was full. I was excited to finish the rest of my living room and then move on to the rest of the house. It took me 30 minutes to vacuum my living room because I had to keep stopping to empty the reservoir. I am grossed out that it was that dirty, but so grateful that I purchased this Shark vacuum. The vacuum is super easy to put together. It's not heavy and is easy to use. I love that it has the large vacuum and the option to break it down to a hand held vacuum to get baseboards and hard to reach areas. I also love that the power switch has 3 positions; Off, Bare floor, and carpet. I love that there is a place on the vacuum for hose attachments. I love that the power cable is quite long. I love that it's compact enough to fit in my coat closet, but large enough to vacuum the living room quicker than the sport vacuum. It makes vacuuming a breeze. The price is amazing for being a Shark vacuum. This vacuum is so amazing that I finished vacuuming, rinsed the resivoir and filter, put it away, and immediately sat down to write this review. Seriously give this vacuum a try! Your only regret is that you didn't get it sooner. I will update this review if anything changes. I am convinced this is the perfect vacuum.
