TECHLINK Strata TV Stand with High Gloss Two Shelf D Profiled Pedestal Stand for Screens Up to 50-Inch, Black

Bought this to use with a brand new Samsung 40" TV (although it can accommodate up to 50" screen sizes) as we have boisterous 4 year old twin boys and wanted something which would hold the TV securely rather than using the stand supplied - it is certainly very heavy & sturdy; it comes with a bewildering array of nuts/bolts etc but the instructions are clear in the main so it's easy to put together. On the downside side 2 pairs of parts are referred to in the assembly details as no.11 (the long rods which are first inserted through the base which are actually labelled as 11, and the hanging brackets which attach to the rear of the TV which are labelled 9) but they are luckily different enough in appearance not to get them confused. Also we were going to attach the rear tv hanging brackets in the top position but the welding where 2 pieces of metal were joined together protruded ever so slightly too much, meaning the screw would not engage, so we ended up using the next hole down instead - the upshot is the brackets can be seen sticking out at the top of the TV screen about 2cm, although this doesn't bother us as our main aim was achieving stability so the TV wouldn't topple over in either direction. It can be adjusted in height to suit your preferred viewing position and you can also turn the central bar & then fix it in position with an adjustable screw if your TV is in a corner (like ours) for a better angle. It's quite difficult to tell from the photo but there is a huge amount of shelf space - we have a DVD player and freesat box on the smaller shelf and the bottom one fits a bewildering number of DVDs. All in all we're really pleased with it.
