For all those women who wanted to be Al Pachino!
"Remember you're not doing this for yourself, you're doing it for the eight year old girl out there who dreams of being a criminal when she grows up!" For me this quote sums up the movie!Yeah, it's just another heist flick with a twist, nothing oscar winning, just fun and female fun too!One day eight year old girls will have female equivalents of Al Pachino and Robert De Niro to idolise, but it's a long way off, so, in the meantime pop the popcorn, turn the lights low, open a bottle of fizz and enjoy the glamour...

Yes a bit girlier but with diamonds to steel what Ocean could resist.
I missed this at the cinema & was interested what Sandra Bullock would do, she looks like she could be Danny's sis Debbie is a bit silly though. Her & Cate Blanchett work well as the Clooney & Pitt counterparts. Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina were all OK just nothing new. Rihanna had a very cool sort of character not the trying too hard she's tried before. I liked Helena Bonham Carter who's sort of been forgotten as a dress designer who has to do allot of the set up. Sarah Paulson too has a rather more rounded character that worked. I don't think it's a bad movie trouble is the other Oceans had hot leading men. If you see 1st it's about Frank's Rat Pack & getting to hang out with them, as is G Clooney's later versions. 1st had one great twist but not much plot, later ones had added twists & turns with a few that didn't work, this is bit more straight forward. I liked the camo's from other movies as well as only using GC as a side character. Not shore what James C was doing in it but don't think he did either. A fun night out at the museum.

Yes, I know, but...
Okay, so technically the storyline is too smooth and there are no read unexpected hurdles to overcome, but that aside, it was fun to watch and a great cast. It's an Ocean film so we all know how it's gonna go anyway, so why the one-star reviews and snide comments? The girls did a great job, the acting was good, the set was good, and I could easily watch it again. I watch films to be entertained and to that end, it fulfilled its promise.

Predictable But Quite Fun
I was really looking forward to watching this because of the cast of female actresses that I like. It was fun, but I was expecting much more. A bit more depth. It was very much like Ocean's 11, so the element of surprise was no longer there. Sandra Bullock and Kate Blanchett were cool and sexy. Rihanna was believable and fun in her role and Sarah Paulsun was a very authentic character. Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter seemed to be playing themselves, which I didn't mind. I loved the beautiful dresses and looking at the gorgeous gems. I also enjoyed spotting the famous faces, Maria Sharapova, Kim Kardashian, Katie Holmes... But I didn't feel excited or surprised at any stage, and I couldn't get emotionally engaged with any of the cast. However it was fun, as I said previously and a good distraction from my stressful life for a couple of hours.

Bland and un-inspiring
It's surprising how the producers of this movie managed to get so much star-power in one flick and still produce such a bad movie. This movie is like an Ikea chair of pieces that don't fit together and decisions made by cigar-smoking men in board roams trying to trick "them broads" into buying some tickets to a genre that usually doesn't appeal to them while at the same time "prooving wrong" all the naysayers that speculate that Holywood is misogynistic and racist.Ocean's 1 & 2 are two token characters: the Asian Constance who I can't recall what she does and Indian Jewel Craftsperson Amita who might be great actresses that I haven't heard about but the evidence points to the contrary. As Ocean's 3rd we find always sexy Rihana, which after the glorious "Battleship" people should have realised can't act to save her live, but oh well men in their 30s probably still masturbate to her as a bonified sex symbol of 10 years ago, so why not, toss her into the cast.Number 4 in the mix, we have Rose, played by Helena Bonham Carter, playing herself, a has-been that everybody remembers as Marla from Fight Club or Bellatrix from the Harry Potter franchise.Number 5 Sarah Paulson's Tammy is meant to be some sort of sneaky yummy mummy, and I'd say she does the best job in the film. She supports the pointless plot and doesn't get in the way. You might remember her from that comedy thing on TV so they figured it might make a good match as relief to the other characters.Number 6 is the mystery to me and I suspect that some other in the 8th might have fallen to the same erroneous idea that this is a movie that empowers women. What is Cate Blanchett doing in this mix, she is a brilliant actress in an absolute turd of a movie. Then, in order of billing, always boring always precious Anne Hathaway: Disliked her in Princess Diaries, Hated her in the Devil Wears Prada, Lothed her in The Dirk Night, She was pointless in The Intern, Made no sense in Interstellar and Cried Les Miserables - She sure has a top-notch agent though.Last but not least, 'member Sandra Bulock? She was in Speed and Demolition Man back in the SVHS era, well she's back and she's still acceptably hot. So why not.Really these women really don't deserve any of my hate on their own, they seem like decent human beings and the one's who's names I recognised bring some value to most of the projects they are in. But the 8 of them makes for a hot mess who nobody should pay to watch and should really stay away from if they value the limited time we all have on this earth.
