High quality system will save you time and give you better end product
Have been building for decades. Showers can be done in a variety of ways from hardcore old school to new kits. I have wanted to try the Schluter Kerdi kit and finally had an opportunity to do so. In the end it has worked tremendously well. The sloped floor pan, the curb, the precut corner pieces, the drain, the special flanges with rubber gaskets for all the wall penetrations. This product is exceptional. The only caution is the same for any process that is new to you - read the instructions and even better watch the online videos. There are some things about this system that are foreign to anyone who has never used it before. For example, all construction I have ever done when it comes to water dictates that you start laying material at the bottom and work your way up - like roofing. This allows the water to flow down without getting in. This system is so watertight that it doesn't matter what order you apply it. It still makes my brain twitch but I water tested the pan and 24 hours later not a single drop was gone.It is slick and fast to use. Everything is included. And if I use it again it will go even faster. Great product.

the company videos make the installation look extremely easy, and the process actually is
I would absolutely buy this kit again (and I bought the seat and shelf niche as well -- ditto for them). I've tiled and done some brick work, but am by no means a pro; my troweling chops need work. This was the first shower I've built from scratch, bare studs to a finished shower. As some folks have pointed out, the company videos make the installation look extremely easy, and the process actually is. The issue is only experience and time. Once I got the thin set consistency right, the fabric went up FAIRLY easily. I worked with smaller batches/smaller sections -- essentially one ceiling to floor piece of fabric per thin set batch -- than were in the videos -- yes, mixing and cleaning are a pain -- but I got the hang of it as I went. I ended up with a bubble or two I didn't see and a couple creases that I had no qualms about slicing (on the wall opposite the shower head) and then painting the hell out of the areas with RedGard. The floor, niche, seat, and curb were easier than the walls for me. I needed to cut the base on the 60" ends to fit my space, a simple and easy procedure. In the end of the day, I'd say the videos made me more concerned about minor flaws & screws ups than was realistic. Two inch floor tiles on mesh went down with the drain assembly very easily; twelve inch wall tiles went up without problems.I have a very cool working shower. My advice: you can do it!

Worked great for my shower
Worked great for my shower. I had to cut it down to 52" inches and it worked well. The only issue was that the two edges I cut down were no longer level. Because I cut into it, the middle on the short sides were lower than the corners. Just have to take that into account when you tile. The kit had everything I needed and wasn't too hard to apply. One tip I'll give is to not use too much thinset when doing your corners (or anywhere you'll have multiple layers of Kerdi). Otherwise you'll end up with bumps on your wall and it will be tough to get your tile smooth.

There is not enough waterproof membrane in the kit to cover a 32 X 60" shower. The kit advertising is misleading.

Great kit! My purchase was a Warehouse Deal and the damage was worse than described, however got a partial refund that paid for a replacement shower tray. To install the whole kit is a bit time consuming and a bit tedious, but worthwhile. Did a flood test for 24hours and no leaks! :-)I used Bostik Tile Mate as the thinset adhesive. I had enough fabric to do the walls and even a small wall adjacent the vanity.

This center drain, pan size does not exist
We ordered a 32"x60" center drain kit and received a 38"x60" kit. Doing some checking we've learned the center drain 32" size is no longer being made-- it's not on the Schulter website, or other home improvement sites. You need to cut the pan down to size. Not a big issue, but stop selling a product that doesn't exist!

Great system, worth the money, time and labor compare to using other methods. 👍🏻👍🏻
As advertised. Using the Schluter Kerdi shower kit made installing the shower floor and shower curb very easy. The even slops of the shower floor to the drain eliminate the time, skills and guess work out of creating a shower floor from scratch with a cement bed. The only thing to look out for is to make sure the sub floor is level, I did prep the shower sub floor with self leveling quick drying cement prior to installing the Schluter Kerdi shower kit.

Five star product without a doubt!! Definitely worth it!!
Great Product! Delivery was kind of strange being that the box was opened and items could have fell out. But after review of contents we assured it was all intact. The product was extremely lite weight and takes time to apply. Note: buy recommended non motified mortar and extra corners if you have a window. We used the Kerdi as recommended to the height of the shower head and had to adjust the shower floor and curb to fit. Be sure to watch the video first prior to installation and follow all directions precisely. If you have any problems call the Schluter Kerdi call center. We had issues with air bubble pockets. After contacting support, we resolved issues. I would recommend this product to anyone who's remodeling or installing their bathroom for the first time. Adding in a Schluter Kerdi triangle bench soon.
