The best. (Along with Perle Noire and Pelikan 4001)
It's not an exaggeration. For me, this is the best black ink currently in production. For some context, I never thought i would even use Quink- I have always been satisfied with the legendary 7 Skrip inks (five of them are, for me, the archetype of their colour class: Black, Red, Peacock, Turquoise and my favorite Blue-Black). These are inks from a time when an ink didn't have to have a catchy name or flashy packaging- All of them are definitive ink their respective colour classes. For reasons I will never understand, Sheaffer discontinued them after 60 years and relaunched new colours. At least they brought back the rather awesome old bottle style... but I find their complete antipathy of heritage insulting. Because I use both vintage pens and fairly dry pens, I needed a non-alkaline, low-viscosity, unsaturated black ink. Skrip has always been my go to. It handles fairly well on crappy paper and really makes every pen -particularly dry ones - feel better. That ink had an 'oily' feel to it and though it is a less saturated ink, often as a result of the good flow, it will show darker than other more saturated inks. And it cleans out of any pen with water only. (In fact, I have sometimes used skrip to help 'flush out' stains or old, dry ink from a feed.. )There are plenty of inks that have two of the three above qualities. Two inks left that do all three: Waterman and Parker. Of the two, Parker is the one i prefer. It still does all of the things that Skrip did just about as well. They both have a nice warm tone to my eye. For clarification, I love and use Aurora, Herbin, Sailor Black, Pelikan 4001 and Diamine Onyx black, but in this one context, Quink reigns supreme. For vintage/ wet pens I use Pelikan. As Quink is the most general use and friendly ink, usable throughout the most applications, I value it the most. The price does not hurt as well. I'll use Perle Noire or Kaweco Black Pearl in vintage pens too, but those (and Aurora) are so saturated, it's harder to clean them out. Also, Kaweco is soo wet, it feathers very easily on lesser paper. None of these inks, to my knowledge, are permanent on paper, Pelikan and Herbin probably do the best in this regard.

Great ink- great price
I just got "into" fountain pens. I had one as a kid (schaffer skript cartridge) but so much has changed with the availability of good inexpensive imports. My first pen was a Jinhao 8802 which writes amazing. I tried it with cartridges and loved how well they worked, but something about bottled ink really fascinates me. Not wanting to invest a ton of money into another obsession I choose this Parker ink. SO glad I did. It is a great ink. It is super smooth (of course a lot of credit goes to the pen) and even on cheap lined notebook paper it does not run or bleed. Works amazing well in my twist up converter. Lays down a nice dark bold black line with no fade or splotches. I'm using a fine tip so flow is not an issue with any ink but the way this one flows is so amazing. I remember the skript cartridges would sometimes have some real graininess to the ink and it would be a bit scratchy (especially the black ones, the colored and blue ones were a lot smoother) so I was almost looking for that same scratch in this black ink but nothing but buttery smoothness. I also appreciate the zero odor from this (I remember how some inks we used in art class smelled to high heaven!) I do have a few not bleed issues. This ink does separate when it sits for awhile. Make sure to give it a good shake, then let it sit for a few seconds to allow the bubbles to pop. The ink appears almost a deep Violet in the bottle, not to worry as it goes on black, but it made me nervous the first time I used it. This ink has a long dry time. 13 seconds on notebook paper. My cartridge inks have about an 8 second dry time, so do be aware of the longer dry time (like I said I am new to this so maybe 13 seconds is not that long?) My first use had a huge blob drip out from under the nib. This didn't happen with the cartridges so it is more than likely the converter but it is a good thing I had a paper towel down otherwise I would have had a huge mess. The drip has not happened again but just be sure to have a rag or paper towel down just in case. This is a great beginners ink at a really amazing price point. I use it for general writing and simple doodles (I am not an artist in any way shape or form lol). I love the way this works and looks and will not hesitate to try other Parker inks as I expand my obsession.

Quink, slick, great ink, covered pens start easily after weeks
This Quink ink is awesome stuff. Heavy color, great consistency and great flow. Viscosity is perfect for most pens, and it dries quickly. Good paper penetration and professional results. Will always buy Quink, try others from time to time, but always back to Quink. Cleans easily, and quickly. Top Notch Stuff rating is 100

Just the best black ink for a great price. I use it in my old sheaffer pen with the fine, medium and broad calligraphy nibs, and pilot pens with a normal round fine and medium nibs, and have experienced no problems. The flow is always smooth and the ink is a rich black. Wonderful price, so much less expensive than the others on the market.
