Definitive Technology W Adapt Pre-Amp/Wireless Music Adapter for Streaming Music

Great little streamer. Right out of the box though it wasn't so good, took a little to get setup to wi-fi, and after that the unit would skip ahead 1-2 seconds every 1-2 seconds. Went on the play-fi website and downloaded 2 updates to a usb and the update to the unit is seamless and fast. unplugged the usb and reconnected to wi-fi and its absolutely awesome now. would highly recommend.

I am not impressed at all. 1.) Not sure who owns the Play-Fi app but I am not a fan at all. Pain to setup the W-Adapt. I separate my wireless networks 2.4 and 5. I originally hooked it up to the 2.4 for range purposes. It would constantly go in and out like it was not enough bandwith. I decided to hook it up to the 5g network. This helped but did not eliminate the problem. The W-Adapt is stationed 4 feet away from the wireless router, I have a WiiM Pro Plus across the house that never drops the connection or has interrupts. 2.) Originally plugged into the amp with analog RCA out. Sound was tiny and thin. Hooked up optical and sound was much better but not near as good as the WiiM. 3.) In the Play-Fi app if you attempt to search the song fast forward a minute or so it will not finish the song you have to go to the next song. Did Definitive Technology stop making them? If so I understand why. My one and only Definitive Technology purchase, Never again will I purchase anything from them or that uses the Play-Fi tech. I actually purchased this for a friend but would not embarrass myself by giving it to him. Waste of money.

I have just got this adapter as I was looking to make my older Integra amp/receiver wireless. Having Definitive Techs' Pro Cinema Surround system for speakers, I am familiar with DT's products & quality. This Adapter is really good at what it does. It sets up and connects easily. I had it up and running within 15 minutes. The sound is excellent with a quality receiver and fantastic DT speakers. The problem is the app. I've tried to connect Spotify but you must be a premium member. It plays Pandora and Amazon Music without a hitch. Since I'm a Mac user, I had to download a third party media server software to get to my iTunes library. I selected Plex as my media server. Plex is pretty easy to use and free. I set it up, got some of my music but I then I tried to give a "friendly name" to the Mac in Plex but the Definitive app wants whatever the Mac's original name is. I still can't get the app to recognize all of my playlists in iTunes. I've tried repeatedly. The product is excellent. I intend to buy a couple of W7's wireless speakers for the rest of the house. But Definitive needs to improve the app and maybe make it connect directly to iTunes. They do that this would be a 5 star review.

Great idea, but doesn't work very well. Audio drops for a couple of secs every minute. Doesn't drop from my other playfi devices, just the w adapt. Frustrating given the price tag. Doesn't matter if I have connected via RCA or optical. I am using the latest drivers too.

Very sleek design. Play-fi app is great, apparently it has gotten much better. I’ve never had many issues with it. It’s almost expected that these have a line in considering the functionally of connecting to an receiver/preamp. Depending on what you pay for this, consider getting a receiver that has play-fi built into it. Use that as your amp or if you get one with an audio line out, hook it up to your currently receiver.

No funciona se traba con la aplicación de TIDAL NO SE CREAN LO QUE DICE EL VIEJO FERNANDO MEZA ES UN TOTAL MENTIROSP QUE LLEVA COMISION EN SUS VENTAS PROUCTO BASURA.

No pude configurar la cuenta de Tidal en la App del dispositivo. Solicite apoyo a la compañía y amablemente intentaron apoyarme pero sin éxito. Al final logré conectar Tidal con la otra aplicación que tiene DTS llamada PlayFi usando este dispositivo. Ahora el problema fue que al escuchar una canción, cuando llegaba al segundo 4 se detenía la reproducción, tenía que pausar y reproducir nuevamente. Lastima lo tuve que regresar; se veía de buena calidad y buena presentación en el empaque pero no funcionó para mi.

Lo regrese. No fue posible la transmisión por Spotify Connect.
