MTD Genuine Parts Lawn Mower Blade Adapter Kit for Mowers 1997 and After

seems to be oem or at least fits my mower. im happy with it and it makes me less scared my mower blade will come off and fly across the yard while mowing. After changing my blade on my mower i noticed the bumps on the adaptor were sheerded off because the blade hit something solid. i didnt feel safe after that with the thought it might loosen or slip or something. it i hit something it could translate that energy directly into the motor and kill my mower. i thought about drilling the part and adding cut off bolts to replace the nubs but i looked on amazon and found this part for very cheap and desided to go with the part as it was meant to be. dont want to mess with safty, balance and the original design on something like that.i am very happy with this part.

If it would have fit the mower, am sure it would have been great. Donated it to our local small engine repair man.Mower was unfixable anyway.

Adapter fits and works fine but one caution. Make absolutely sure you get the correct part number when you order. The listing on Amazon indicates the part fits all MTD mowers of certain years-----not accurate. I ordered one thinking it would fit as it matched the correct year. Amazon handled it fine and refunded the cost. When I found the original manual, looked up the correct part number and ordered it the fit was perfect.

I had a 4.5hp push mower with a blown engine. I swapped an 8.5 hp pressure washer engine onto it. The biggest issue was the crankshaft for the lawnmower engine was longer then the pressure washer engine and the blade sat too high in the deck. This adapter dropped it to the perfect height. Only issue is that it didn’t come with a bolt so I had to go and get one from a store but that’s fine.

Dangerously bad quality. First time starting up and motor didn't even get to full speed before the side broke off. Don't take the risk.

I couldn't find any specs that would suggest that this would fit my lawn mower. It appears my lawn mower is old enough that you will not find much about it online. With that said, this "MTD Genuine Parts Lawn Mower Blade Adapter Kit for Mowers 1997 and After" fits perfectly on the HUSKEE SUPREME 21" Cut - Mulch - Rear Bag - Side Discharge push mower with the 7.0 HP Engine as rated by Briggs and Stratton. The lawn mower barcode: 0-43033-53367-1. I hope that this helps someone else.

Okay, the description on this (and in my MTD manual!) is WRONG. The shaft of the motor is larger on the Honda motors for MTD mowers. The shaft length is correct, but it just won't fit - the socket is too small. If you have an MTD with Honda motor of this vintage, you need the 25mm (1") diameter, and you need this length shaft on the adapter. There is yet another wrong part being offered, OEM-753-0588 where the diameter of the socket is right for the Honda motors, but the shaft is too short, so that the bolt bottoms out. 748-04082 is probably the one you need for the Honda motor, but the reviews on Amazon warn of a lot of early failures - so I haven't tried. A local place is going to get the part in for me from MTD.On the bright side - packaging was good, return was easy.

The cheaply cast, and poorly designed blade adapter installed by the mower manufacturer is the reason a replacement needed to be made. I had previously purchased another MTD replacement, and it broke like the original had. The Arnold replacement adapter should have been installed by the manufacturer on the assembly line. The replacement adapter fits correctly, is heavy duty, and it's a bolts-right-on unit that will now outlive the mower! GREAT quality product!
