How does this compare to Lavazza Tierra?

Not familiar with tierra. I use the miscala in a stove top expresso maker and their pods in my Lavazza machine. Love this coffee.

what is the difference between this blend and the Grand Crema blend in bean form??

The Grand Aroma is 100% Arabica.The Gran Crema is a blend of Arabica & Robusta.Personally these are two of the most exceptional coffee beans I have ever tried. I recommend trying both either way you will not be disappointed!

Approximately how long have the beans been roasted before you receive them?

The kilo I just ordered in August was packed in January. Bear in mind that the new type of packaging, using the CO2 release valve, does a great job of keeping the beans fresh. I have experimented with 1/4 kilo vacuum-packed Illy (which costs almost 2x the price), and had CO2 poisoning as soon as I opened the can. This brand also tastes better,  has more body in genera, and makes a frothier cremal. It is fantastic. But the fact that it only comes in kilo bags does create a bit of a problem. I have tried various storage solutions, trying to avoid refrigerating or freezing (which my machine tech told me was not a good idea), but as you work your way through the kilo (if you are not a coffee bar but an individual user) the beans will start to go stale, even with the valve bag resealed. I just ordered some smaller valve seal bags so I can split the kilo up into smaller bags, and I will try freezing them until I need them. Don't know yet if that will work. But the coffee is so great, you could go through half a kilo, throw out the rest when it starts to get stale, and begin a new kilo. You'd still save money over Illy, and the taste is far and away better. I have a friend who grew up in Venice, and still lives there half the year. He says my espresso is the best he's had in the U.S. That's because of these beans.

Are these beans dark roast?

I would call the roast a Full City -- or perhaps just a little lighter. The roast is not as dark as an espresso roast, nor as light as a City Roast.
