Can wear this all night, no hotspots
Surprisingly comfortable. Not "comfortable for a skull-crusher", but genuinely comfortable. If you have the right amount of counterweight, this will sit on your head just fine- even without the chin strap.Everyone with night vision needs a skull-crusher of some sort, and this one cant be beat. This is probably the cheapest part of your NVG setup; at a quarter the price of a Wilcox mount. You wont regret it.

Fits OK on a big noggin
This is a nice product and holds a PVS-14 pretty secure, you do have to buy a shroud separately but they are inexpensive. The only complaint is the straps could be a little longer for people with a slightly larger head.I can make it fit but it takes some work.

Won't fit a normal adult head. Made for kid sized heads.
Someone else already posted. This is a SMALL. It's not made to fit the average adult head. I'm not sure why someone would design something for adults to be so tiny. Not even close to adult sized and they must have used some sort of child-man for the pictures. Ear holes are WAY far forward, cap portion needs approximately 2" more material to make it usable. I wanted to like this but the execution on their part is just terrible. I even had a female with a small size head try it, and it wasn't even close to fitting. If you have a voodoo shrunken size head it might work for you, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

Great for that quick scan when something goes thud on the back forty.
Helmets are great and they are sturdy, but if you need to check out something quick this Crye Precision cap works great. I did have to re-drill two holes on the mounting plate, but that was a quick fix and that was that. The counter weight sits a little high on the back side but that is not a deal breaker and it's light. This is a well made cap and does not make it look like your going to war... for those who care about such things.

Needs a shrowd
The cheapest thing you can buy from Crye Precision. Fits well, a million times better than the OG plastic skull crusher. It has one flaw, it needs a shrowd and you have to install it yourself.

A great off-helmet NOD solution
This is far superior to the elaborate "skull crusher" rigs that are usually offered to support night vision off helmet -- easy to adjust, very snug, and quick to deploy. If I were humping over a mountain in NODs, using this would be a huge weight off my neck.

Poor quality control
This is a youth size cap. The chin strap is sewn off center. Will not fit an adult without cutting and replacing some of the straps.

Solid option for NV headmount with minor imperfections
First up buy this from the actual CRYE web sight because it is cheaper even with shipping. Also BUY THE BATTERY POUCH you cheap b****It adds significant comfort to this setup by properly balancing your NOD with weight on the back. I used 6 AA, 6 CR123, and about 6" of 1/4" lead wire and it balances a pvs 14 nicely.I have a BIG ass head and this thing still works just fine.(XL size in helmets, last snap on snapbacks) I was worried after reading the reviews but I have had no problems. It sits high on the head almost like a hipsters beanie but that is necessary to use it with ear pro and get a proper eye weld.So get the battery pack, balance it, and you will also need about 2 feet of light duty shock cord (bungee) and 2 little toggles that allow it to slide and bite. IDK wtf they are called. Look at the pictures.Take a 1 foot section of bungee and make it a loop. Secure it behind behind your NVG shroud and bungee it around the front of your pvs optic for stability while running / quick movement (pictured)It eliminated any wobble in your mounts.then take the second section and run it through the battery pack (Melt a small hole on the bottom left side) and to the metal loop of each rear harness. Use the toggles to adjust tightness (Pictured) this helps alot. With these simple upgrades it makes this MUCH more usable and comfortable. The straps work fine but never seem perfect, but then again I have never found a chin strap that seems perfect so take that for what it is.This works with peltors and sordins, gel cups are preferred. You can even wear a thin beanie or balaclava under it in cooler weather / basement LARPING.Don't sleep on the Crye Nightcap it slaps.
