These valves were bought to replace the Chinese valves in a cheap preamp. I bought them at the same time as the preamp with the intention of replacing them immediately so unfortunately I didn’t compare them to the original valves. However GE (General Electric) valves have a long established reputation of producing quality valves and being JAN spec they are made for the demanding military market, therefore they have to undergo rigorous tests to meet this specification. They sound fine but should get better as all the equipment burns in. You can safely buy these buy these valves with the confidence you are buying a quality product. Watch out for the price though, I bought these for a reasonable price of just under 7 pounds each, some places are selling them for considerably more.

As an up grade from Chinese valves, these are more sensitive in the sense that I've only got to open gain knob in the front end of guitar amp a little to hear guitar, weras before upgrade it had to be cranked upA little longer to warm up, but it's worth itB.T.W. the designation of these valves does not necessarily mean they are meant for militaryI've only just made upgrade recently, and only to front two valves, replacing 6j1 s,More sensitivity gives me more options ,as to where to put overdrive for eg,Sound better, yes, at first impression

Made the preamp sound clearer and crisper. The Soundstage was improved providing improved clarity of sound l, especially the low to midrange frequencies without distortion of bass or rumbling. Treble is slightly crisper too. Overall the valves ( matching) do improve the sound and performance.

These were labelled on packing and box as "made in China" However the valve itself is printed USA. They were a little tight to get into the holder but work well. I'm impressed with the overall sound quality fitted to my Fosi T20, the bass sounds a little fuller than the supplied valves, however this may be my imagination. At £14 the pair they are a bargain.

Bought these to replace the ones supplied with the cheap Douk valve amp i bought. The vocals especially sound a little distorted and unpleasant. Ran them for a couple of weeks to see if they would improve. They didnt so i put the cheapo stock ones back and TBH they are substantially better. The chances of these being legit original USA made valves (as printed on the valves themselves) is pretty low when the boxes they come in are brand new and say Made in China on them.

Great value and sounds very nice,my older valves sounded nice and I bought these as spares and now their the one's I use now.Old valves in storage now.A mellow sound but not dullWorth buying

I cannot believe the improvement in sound quality compared to the original valves in my Douk audio amplifier. Worth every penny and I will buy another pair very soon so that I have a back up pair of valves.
