Awesome kettle
Had a fancy Fellow electric kettle before this which I accidentally fried, but this kettle is so much better!!! It’s slimmer, pours so much faster, shuts off on its own, has a cleaner base, leaks less, is aesthetically more pleasing, and is way more affordable. The cork is a nice design touch. There is no plastic anywhere on the interior, which is essential. Thrilled!

Works well, and looks nice
I really like this kettle! It heats up quickly and does what it's supposed to do, plus it looks nice in my kitchen. Glad I got it

The Best Cheap Gooseneck You'll Find
I purchased this kettle to use primarily as a "gets the job done" kettle for my office coffee setup. I am serious about my coffee and have used more premium kettles such as the Hario gooseneck and the Fellow Stagg EKG. The Fellow is my go-to at home, but I didn't want to spend $150 again, so I purchased this Bodum kettle. My review of this product is at least somewhat informed by comparing its performance to more expensive products like the Fellow Stagg EKG. First, I want to address the leaking/steam valve issue that many other reviewers have complained of. In some photos I saw of this product before purchasing it, there was a plastic cap on the steam valve, but there was no plastic cap on mine. Bodum seems to have updated that part to a metal thingy that is, I hope, a lot more literal-fool-proof than whatever plastic piece they were using before. I took some pictures and added them to this review. To clarify: this kettle does not leak if you do not overfill it. If you fill it up to the fill line like a sane person, you will have a problem-free water boiling experience. Its design is in no way defective, and I have been using it several times per day for a few weeks now with absolutely zero leaking issues. It would probably leak if I filled it way past the line, but any kettle-- including the Stagg and other pricier options, as I've witnessed firsthand-- will leak through the lid holes if overfilled. Pour rate and quality: Before getting to the Bodum, I want to mention the speed of the pour for the other kettles I've owned. The Fellow Stagg EKG pours at a rate that I can only describe as glacially slow-- water comes out of it in a very slow and controlled drip, which is nice for pour-over coffee but feels ridiculous when pouring a lot of water at once, such as for French press or tea. On the other hand, my Hario kettle pours much faster, but it still allows for some control. So, if those are the ends of the spectrum, then this kettle from Bodum kettle pours quickly, at a rate that is most like the Hario and is honestly more pleasurable to use than the Stagg. For pour-over coffee, I suspect the Bodum's more aggressive flow gitated the coffee bed more, but the stream doesn't feel as delicate or controlled as the Stagg. The water stream produced by the Bodum is steady and does not break up or dribble, even when pouring from a height of several inches. Really, by all objective measures such as this, the Bodum's performance rivals that of any higher-end offerings. When filled to capacity with room temperature water, it boils in about 5 and a half minutes. Really, my only qualms with this kettle are with the cork on the lid and handle. They feel expectedly flimsy, but as other reviewers have said, I'm optimistic that they could be replaced with a drawer knob or something when-- definitely when, not if-- they break. When I'm buying in this price range, it's definitely not something I can really fault Bodum for. This kettle also does feel a bit wobbly on the base, but only in the way of a table with a slightly short leg. The base is plastic and feels sort of cheap, because it is. Does that matter? Again, in this price range, I don't think it does. In all the ways that count, this kettle functions identically to higher-end, pricier kettles. It's annoying to clean and has flimsy handles. The cord is short. It doesn't heat up with turbo speed or hold a ton of water. But so what? For less than $30, nothing will give you a good and controlled pour, a quick boil, and neat design. UPDATE (April 2023): I've had this kettle for over a year now, and I'm still immensely pleased with it. The cork on the lid and handle is still holding up well-- honestly, it's still like new-- after daily use. It hasn't started to rust on the inside or anything. It's still in perfect shape; I'm honestly impressed. I have experienced the issue where water leaks out of the bottom a handful of times, but I think I've discovered what causes this: the mechanism that automatically turns off the kettle once it starts to boil is seemingly triggered by steam, and if I attempt to turn it back on to maintain boiling or if I reheat more water a few times in a row, the steam causes enough condensation buildup around the switch that some of the droplets come out. I don't think this is "leaking" at all; if anything, this is really my fault for trying to push the kettle beyond the scope of what the manufacturer intended. UPDATE 2 (October 2025): This kettle has been my go-to at home for more than two years now. It gets used at least once per day, if not more. It is still working flawlessly, and the cork on the lid and handle are still even attached.

Stopped leaking!
Stylish little kettle. This is my second one. It did leak in the beginning as the first one I bought did… But it doesn’t leak anymore. Perhaps some buildup occurred where it was leaking. I kept it because I liked it enough to overlook the functional issue.

Precision pouring requires a NOT HEAVY gooseneck kettle
This is a handy gooseneck electric hot-water kettle. But I am not using it. I make 2-3 cups of Peet's Arabia-Mocha-Java coffee to get going after waking up. So I do not need a lot of hot water. This Bodum Electric Kettle boils 27 oz of water. When the Bodum kettle is filled with water it is too heavy for me. The gooseneck is ideal for precision pouring over the coffee grounds. The weight of the kettle and hot water makes precision pouring difficult. Cleaning is also difficult. The top opening of the Bodum kettle is narrow. The body of kettle flares outward with a metal tube in the center. I think the central tubing is the mechanism for turning the auto-switch off. The narrow top opening and the central metal tubing makes it difficult to wipe dry. I wipe my kettle dry to prevent minerals from accumulating on the bottom. The kettle body handle and the lid knob are made from natural cork. The cork knob and handle are directly attached to metal components. The cork is naturally flimsy and I am always worried I am going to pull the cork off of the metal parts. For me a cheap simple & small electric kettle is easy to clean. Simple & small kettles have a constant diameter from the top opening to the bottom. It is easy to stick your hand into the kettle to clean. A simple & small kettle boils water hot in the shortest amount of time. Then I pour the hot water into a small gooseneck non-electric kettle for "easy" precision pouring, because it is lighter. In addition, the lid has a strong hard plastic knob and the body handle is a strong hard plastic. I feel confident that the lid knob and body handle are securely attached to their metal components. The Bodum electric kettle is fine. I am just use to another way of pouring over coffee which I find advantageous. So I would recommend the Bodum electric kettle. But I do not use it. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars.

Quick heating, durable and trendy look.
I use it almost daily with my French press and it works like a charm. Quick heating capabilities, easy flip on/off and stylish look. Great addition to my morning routine.

Bought this for my wife to use with her V60 coffee filter as it allows for slow precise pouring over the ground coffee. Loved the styling and esthetics of this kettle. It came fitted with a US plug, so I had to spend extra on a US to UK adapter. Sadly after a couple of uses the bottom section of the kettle leaked out producing a pool of water under and around the base it sits on. Slightly worried that it was soaking an electrical connection. I reported the issue and Amazon have provided a return label and will be refunding my Amazon account. Wasn't confident in taking a replacement for this one. Will buy an alternative one with my credit. Now stuck with a US plug adapter that I don't need. Won't be returning it as it's not faulty. Worked just fine with this kettle.

I didn't pay enough attention to the capacity of this kettle so was surprised at how petite it was. Will boil enough for 2 standard cups of tea. Heats quickly, very nicely finished, love the interior water level gauge and the cork handle (and lid knob) comfortable to the touch. Initially resisted purchasing as wasn't confident the cork would hold up in the long run. Still not confident but it's a lovely little kettle and I'm happy enough with it thus far that I could probably rig up replacement knob+handle. I really like this little kettle, it's darling.

cumple perfectamente con lo que promete, la base se siente algo delgada y delicada pero no genera ningún conflicto o mal funcionamiento, la calidad de la tetera es maravillosa y el cuello de ganso bastante útil para regular la salida de agua, calidad precio perfecta
