Joico Color Intensity Semi-Permanent Hair Color, Violet Pearl

I like the is brand it’s very light in color but it’s smells good and if your a lighter blonde it stays longer

I had colored my hair pink. Added this after and it gave it a glowing shine look. Absolutely wonderful color

Terrible product!!!!! I usually don’t write reviews... but had to write one... my hair turned all different shades... from green to pink to purple! Also, my hair broke off a lot on top. Save your money and do not buy it... use purple shampoo instead to get better results!

I wish it showed up a little brighter then it does some parts are definitely visible others look more grey then lilac.

In response to the professional comment...Depending on the shade, you might be able to get away with between a 7-9. Obviously the lighter the color the better the result with a lighter lift to start.In terms of home processing, I am a nurse with no formal training in cosmetology. After pricing stuff out with professionals to bleach my hair (my hair is a very dark brown naturally) I decided to try to lighten my hair to apply these wild colors at home. I did a ton of research on the process and pretreated my hair before hand. I managed to get my hair on the first go to around a 8 and toned it myself to cut the brass. I've since done my roots several times and I still have hair. Nothing has fallen out and the person who cuts my hair has commented that my hair has remained healthy.I would say to the home stylist, do your research, be prepared and go low and slow. I started with a 20 volume developer as I was a bit afraid of using a more powerful one right from the gate. Be sure to get your hair in the best shape before you try it. I would consult with a professional if your hair has other color as well. My hair hadn't been colored in several months so it was almost color free at that time.These colors work great, last a long time and are easy to apply. Just leave them on while, since they are a direct dye, the longer it sits, the better. Going forward, wash your hair with cool water and a quality color safe shampoo. The pinks, reds and purples see to really hold on.

Washed out too quickly.

This product did not dye my hair at all. I have blonde hair and after washing the violet pearl out of my hair it was the exact same color as when I started. I was very disappointed!!!

I love the violet pearl. I had previously purchased the silver pearl color as a favorite for toning my blonde to silver-white, and I have to say the violet is a much nicer shade as the silver pearl has too much "blue" undertone for my tastes (though, I mean, that's exactly what you'd expect of silver).The violet pearl is almost a grey-ish purple, really pretty color, very close to the packaging color. Unfortunately I used it to mix in with some black-brown-dark ombre fade into a blonde weave (100% bohemian human hair) this time, and although I love the outcome, I can't accurately represent the color with a picture. I can see very clearly where i used the joico violet pearl over areas I hadn't mixed in as much, though, and I am absolutely in love. My only complaint is that I didn't buy more!!!As for those complaining it doesn't hold: IT IS A PASTEL SEMI PERMANENT, IT WILL NOT HOLD TO HAIR THAT IS NOT LIGHTENED ADEQUATELY WITH BLEACH... This is just basic practice when it comes to dyes, especially semi permanent. You can't dye light blonde coloring over darker hair and expect it to go blonde, it doesn't work that way! This dye is no different. If you have realistic expectations you will get realistic results. I have used almost all of Joico's various semi permanent colors over the years and I would not shy away from the ratings on this one if you are familiar with coloring, like I almost made the mistake of doing.For fade: Yes, it fades quicker than the darker Joico shades, but that should be expected of any pastel color regardless of brand. If you want to avoid fade more without complete reapplication, mix it in with your conditioner (though honestly I'd just use this like conditioner when I felt the need, its very kind to my hair).

This brand is my go to and I’ve always loved the colours however this one is terrible. I have light blonde hair and it just gave me blue streaks.

This toner didn't work on my light blonde hair. I also read the reviews that it isn't working but I wanted to try because Joico other toners have always worked on my hair, the magenta and orchio are my favorite. Maybe if you have platinum hair this will work but because it is pastel it won't hold on to your hair for long.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product. I am an ex stylist and normally can pick it up cheaper at the beauty supply shop except..... it is ALWAYS sold out. It takes away all brassiness & does give you a slight LILAC colour ( PURPLE takes away ORANGE tones ) but, I don't mind that at all. The COLOUR is true to the COLOUR on the packaging and I ALWAYS get compliments when I first use it. The Colour should last you 8 - 10 washes if, you use warm / cooler water to wash your hair.

This colour didn’t turn out as dark as I expected it to be, or as advertised but I did like it. My hair is quite ashy already so it did make my hair a nice grey with a very light lavender hue in it and I did use almost the entire bottle but next time I will definitely have to get a darker colour. It did last a good few weeks though!
