But that wouldn't be any quicker. I saw this corkscrew demonstrated on America's Test Kitchen, and I couldn't believe how quickly and easily it worked. I got one for my wife, and sure enough, it really is that easy. Just push the lever down and pull the lever back up; that's all there is to it. I don't know why they still manufacture the other kinds of corkscrews; this one renders them all obsolete. I know you can spend over $100 on designs similar to this one, but I don't know why anyone would do that since this one works so well.There is a warning that you shouldn't use this with synthetic corks. We have ignored that warning on many occasions now (who uses real corks anymore?) and have not had any trouble.
