Already used. Very happy with this mini kit. Unless you drop a pin...it doesn't come with tweezers.

This works great! I've rekeyed 8 locks using this kit. In order to preserve pin's, I dump the old pins from the lock and sort them by size. When I rekey the lock I reuse any pins that I can during the rekey and only add pins from this kit for the pins I don't have from the lock. I take the rest of the pins and sort them by what size they are and put them back the their respective slots. This is easy to do if you have the original key to the lock before the rekey. Then just check the sizes for each cut on the key and line that up with the pin slots on the tumbler, that way you know which old pin goes where. However, it's just as easy to compare the size of the pin to the pins you have and when you match it up, you know the size of the pin and can add that pin back to your collection. Any pins that look damaged, worn out, etc I still toss out. This will hopefully preserve the life of this kit so I don't have to order a new one anytime soon.

Works great. Only issue is the key gauge is off. Took hours to figure out that it was reading cuts wrong. Once I added 1 to all my measurements (i.e., use the number to the left of the key instead of the number to the right), it worked flawlessly. Excellent value for money once you figure it out. Even if you just rekey your house once, you are probably saving at least $200. Just a shame that the key gauge issue caused so much needless frustration.

It's an inexpensive kit to rekey Kwikset locks and had "MOST" of what you need and "MOST" of the parts seem to work OK, the plug clips are missing a small tab that holds the tail-piece in place... fortunately I was able to use the old one, but -the parts in the kit did not work in my application.

Liked the small container.

I worked in a store as a teenager that rejected locks so I had a step up on how to do it. Remember you will need a key to use to change the lock to. I had old keys from another house and used one of those. For the price of the kit I saved a substantial amount over calling a locksmith to come out and do 4 locks.
