PILOT Axiom Collection Retractable Ballpoint Pen, Matte Black Barrel, Blue Ink, Medium Point (71414)

A big, heavy, man pen. Works for those who like the idea of carrying a rugged metal pen for "survival" purposes, or those who just like having something quality that looks nice and will last a long time. Doesn't exactly write like the G2s you may know and love, but it still writes like butter. Clicks open and closed with a substantial feel and satisfying sound. It's like closing the door of a benz. Just a good, good pen.

Writes smooth

The pen screws together tightly with metal screw threads. The finish is flawless and looks nice. It isn't extremely heavy, but weighs just enough not to feel like a plastic pen. The clicky button has a little hole in the top with a blue indicator to show its retracted status, so you can glance down at the top of the pen as it goes in your pocket and know that the tip is not still extended.It requires Pilot's "center of gravity" refills (the short fat ones, not the long skinny ones). They are pretty good ballpoint refills, but you have no other options. Pilot's ballpoint refills are slightly thinner near the tip than most other brands which will not fit through the hole in the tip of the pen (e.g., a shortened Parker refill does not fit through). So unless you plan on drilling, be sure that you will be happy with an upper-mid-range ballpoint. I think Uniball makes a slightly better ballpoint, and a lot of people would prefer a gel refill of some other brand instead. Lacking those options makes me drop a star from this otherwise very good pen.

If you're like me and you need a stylish and reliable pen. Then look no further. It writes very smoothly, fits in my hand nicely, and I've not had any cramps using this pen for long periods of time. It's lighter than I thought it would be, but it still feels sturdy. The bumps or the 'grip' for the pen are very small and I don't feel they help grip the pen any better. The only thing I don't like about the pen is if I loan it to anyone they want to steal it!!!

This pen is my new favorite! It writes so smoothly and the point is neither too thick nor too thin, so the writing comes out clear and not blurred or faded. The matte black looks really nice as well. You will want to use the Pilot Dr. Grip Center of Gravity Ballpoint Ink Refills. They also come in black if you want to switch out the blue ink that the pen comes with already inside. At first I was hesitant to spend $15 on a pen as I usually buy a pack for $5 or so, but after using it I know I will be writing with it for a long time to come. Definitely worth purchasing.

Quality is nice, feels good in hand. Writes good and smooth, just wish it took normal Pilot G2 refills.

I still occasionally sign wet signatures as my job requires me too. So I wanted to be professional and personally make myself feel good by purchasing this pen. It turns out very satisfying, the ink is good. Writing is smooth. I like the feel of a bit heavy of this pen. Pretty satisfied. I might purchase again as a gift for my friends

Was unaware I was purchasing a used pen. The box that it cames in was all scratched up and had a bunch of scuff marks on it. The pen itself was already used since the wax on top of the ink was already taken off. It worked fine. Honestly I would use a metal Barrel pen but with a rubber grip on it instead of the one that comes with.
