Best starter set for the money anywhere
If you are new to disc golf, you are in for a steep but manageable learning curve. Throwing a golf disc is not at all like throwing a Frisbee, and many beginners fail to understand this and get quickly frustrated. One of the most common mistakes is for a new player to buy random golf discs and start trying to play. Disc descriptions such as "long, straight distance driver" can be misleading, and a new player will quickly lose hope as they watch their "distance driver" fly for 30 or 40 feet, bank sharply to the left, and nosedive into the gound again and again. The Innova beginner's set takes much of the guesswork out of learning the sport. The set includes three discs that are selected especially for beginners. The Leopard sets the standard for begginers' drivers, and for good reason. Its flight pattern is straight with a gentle left fade (for right-handed players) when thrown at beginner speeds. As the player gains experience and develops their throw, the Leopard will turn slightly right before fading back to the left, and once the player has enough speed and power behind their throws and has outgrown the Leopard as a regular driver, it will still see use as a right-fading or rollover disc.Innova's midrange offering, the Shark, is in my opinion the best beginner disc made by any company. I have been playing disc golf for 15 years, and there has never been a time when I did not have a Shark in my bag. Simply put, it goes where you throw it, and it is minimally affected by variables such as wind speed and direction, how fast it is thrown, etc. Additionally, it is very resistant to rolling over at higher speeds, and as such it is a disc that you will not outgrow as your skill and power increases. The Aviar is Innova's putter for this set. The Aviar is a pretty average putter, but not spectacular in any way. The included disc is optimal for shots 20 feet and shorter; longer shots at the basket would probably be better handled by the Shark. Like all discs, the Aviar fades a little left at the end of its flight, but if thrown too fast or too far, it will curve to the right before doing so. This changes the point of aim at various distances, and so makes it a bit difficult for beginners in my opinion. Regardless, for shots less than 20 feet, it behaves fairly consistently. Beginners will appreciate that the profile is very similar to a Frisbee in the way that it feels, which lends some intuitiveness to throwing the Aviar. If I could make one change to this set, it would be to include some better how-to instructions for new players. As it is, Innova has some very helpful and informative articles on their website, and dozens of helpful videos are available on YouTube to help new and seasoned players alike improve their game. Spending a few minutes using these resources will pay bigger dividends than months of going to a disc golf course and trying to figure things out on your own.

Great starter set!
These are the perfect 3 discs to start your disc golf career.I did a lot of reading and without any practical experience it can be tough to figure out exactly where to start. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on discs. Here is what I like specifically about this set:1.) Inexpensive - why spend a lot of money on expensive discs you know nothing about?2.) 150g weight - all 3 discs are 150g. This is the best weight to learn on while you are developing arm strength. Also, heavier weight discs have a tendency to hide mistakes with form and technique. It is better to start off learning the right technique right away than having to change bad habbits down the line3.) Perfect complement of discs - Fairway Driver (Leopard), Midrange (Shark) and Putter/Approach (Aviar). I suggest spending a lot of time with the midrange and putter as you develop your technique before you start throwing the Leopard. That being said, you probably won't have to wait too long. The Shark has developed into one of my favorite discs!Realistically you are going to replace these discs down the line (especially if you play on Woods Courses), but these will last you for a bit while you learn the game and develop first hand experience. Once you have a better grasp of the game and equipment you might want to upgrade to different discs or more expesnive plastic, but it is silly to do that right off the bat!You will not be disappointed with these discs if you are starting the game as a beginner

Good set for beginners, scratch easily
These are a great into set for any beginners or people that want to try and get into this sport. I bought two sets of these, one for me and one for my girlfriend, so we didn't have to rent 2 sets every time we went. The set is a much better deal than buying them separately, but a true beginner may not see much of a difference in how each of the discs fly. They do get banged up a bit, since most of the courses near me are rockier and lots of trees. I would buy them again if I wanted to try out this sport.Feel free to leave questions and I will gladly answer them.

THE beginners disc set
I bought this for my dad because he wanted to start playing disc golf with me. This set comes with three discs:1. Leopard (Fairway Driver)2. Shark (Mid Range)3. Aviar (Putter/Approach)The Leopard is everyone's go-to first driver. It's easy to throw and learn how to play with for beginners. I think just about anyone who has played a significant amount of frolf has owned and thrown a Leopard. The Shark, like the Leopard, is an easy to throw mid range. It's not the best mid range in the world for beginners (I would suggest Disc Craft Buzzz) but it's a solid addition that will help them learn the game. The Aviar is an amazing putter. It's easy for beginners to use and I know a few people who have played for YEARS who still swear by their Aviars. If you're just getting started, this is the set for you. If you play for awhile you outgrow this set, but that will happen with any discs you buy.
