I can't say enough about this little unit. It's cheap enough where if you want a unit that's incredibly good but you just want to plug it in and go: it's great! This one you can also tailor 50 ways from Sunday too, which is incredibly powerful for more advanced units.One thing that surprised me, it also detects trains nearby! I had no idea about this until the alarm went off and sure enough, there was a train approaching. It has all the bells and whistles you will EVER need. I'm very very happy with it!

I have been using this radar-detector for a few months now. I can say with confidence that it is easily one of the best investments I have ever made. It has saved me from potentially being pulled over quite a few times!Now, the radar detector does take a bit of time to install. Also, I have noticed that there are quite a few "false flags" when using this device. However, just because you don't see a cop car immediately does not mean that they're not there. I feel that most of the false readings I receive are merely coming from patrol cars which I can't see. Not really a defect of the device.Overall, I cannot recommend this product enough. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a "top-notch" one as this will do just fine for you.(Please note: I do not condone excessive speeding on the road. At most, I go only 5 mph over the speed limit. I purchased this because many highway patrol officers will give drivers a ticket for just about any infraction they can think of. Do use this responsibly.)

I have been using my radar detector almost everyday since I got it. It has worked welled both on the highway (interstates and state highways) and in the city. Quite a few false alarms on certain roads, especially under signal lights when idling - I'll have to try out setting the RPM engine sensor that this model has.My one complaint (albeit small) is that the "what's in the box" description on Amazon says that a straight power cord is included and was something I wanted for my radar detector. However, after opening the package, I found a coiled cord - which now stretches across my dash board and radio. After contacting Amazon, they said they couldn't do anything about it other than provide a refund if I didn't want it anymore.

I bought this based on the features I read about it however it is a decent radar detector but the range is lacking as I was ticketed for speeding as the trooper was almost in front of me before this actually went off and by then it was too late. If it is clear out and you are on a straight away etc. it seem to work better.

This is a very well designed Cobra 14 band radar/laser detector. It has multiple functions of which can be turned on or off.Some earlier reviews remarked that it is too sensitive, Thats not true, reading the instructions is a must for this detector as it is not just a basic plug and play.Yes you can just plug it in but you have the option of adjusting it for your driving conditions.The intelimute shuts the detector off when the engine rpms fall below a certain level.This eliminates a constant warning while you are sitting still.The voice feature is nice. It can be turned off or on.I found it odd that it begins with a female voice saying " system ready" and afterwards the warnings are male voices.I would not recommend this as a first detector because it's features would overwhelm a novice.But for the seasoned detector user, this is a great detector to have.It has a built in memory that will store any settings you make to the detector when the power is turned off,I have owned several detectors in the past both cobra and whisper and I am very pleased with this model.

This detector picks up everything but the police. I drive by a Kroger. It beeps, I go through the drive through. It beeps. I drive in the middle of nowhere, (my cell phone doesn't even work here) and what do you know... IT BEEPS! I pass five police cars on the interstate, and the thing is quiet as a sinner in church! I even got a ticket in Arkansas. It was on, and did not alert me to anything! The ticket cost...$196.00. Don't waste your money on this thing. I'm usually not one for reviews. However, this this is so terrible I had to tell someone.

Compared to my previous Cobra radar detector, this model is much worse. A lot of time I can already visually see the police car when the alert first sounded. Sometimes they don't even react at all.....Should've gotten better model even with higher price.......
