Best way to make bacon, but a little messy
The design is brilliant. You get nice crispy bacon because the strips aren't touching anything. However your microwave will need a good cleaning after each use.To me, it's worth it for the crispy bacon. The device is pretty easy to clean after you drain the fat.

Buy it!
Works flawlessly! Not much else to say... It honestly tends to make better bacon than anything I've had off a stove! Extremely easy to use and clean. Only thing I'd say is wrong is it definitely takes longer to cook than instructions sayIt's especially useful when you're cooking with a recipe that calls for bacon bits... Love using this thing to make bacon for salads for instance

NOT for small microwaves. Still a decent option, though bacon doesn't taste as good.
I purchased this in June of 2015 and definitely got the real deal. If you get one of the counterfeit, melt-prone ones that are apparently getting sent out are, make sure to send it back! I have tested this thing thoroughly in 5 (!) different microwaves and cannot imagine it melting. The entire construction is of very sturdy plastic, including the arms.I have made a HECK of a lot of bacon in this thing, as well as in a pan on the stove top. I'll tell you flat-out: FRIED BACON TASTES BETTER. There's no competition there. In a blind taste test, bacon that's been cooked the REAL way is going to win out every single time. That being said, about 60% of the time when one of us is making breakfast, convenience wins out over the taste factor. Because even if it doesn't taste AS good, it's still bacon, it's significantly better than (even real) bacon bits, and this means bacon can happen when otherwise bacon would be too much work. For cleaning, I actually just drain the bacon grease (save it for later!) and then wipe down everything with a paper towel. I then store it inside a gallon-size ziplock bag to keep everything clean and all together. The only major caveat is if you have a small microwave, then this bacon maker might not be the one for you. When we moved into an RV, I popped this in the microwave and soon found I had to choose between partially raw or partially burnt bacon. The top of the rack - where the middle of the strips are - don't get cooked fast enough. Adding more time made the tips of the bacon - which were closest to the tray - overcook into dry, hardened, unappetizing bricks.I got desperate enough I even tried removing the bacon from the rack partially though and microwaving it the rest of the time in the tray. No good. Finally I tried a different microwave bacon cooking device, one designed simply like a plastic grill pan for the microwave. And now I've got awesome microwave bacon again!I'm sure this thing will last for years to come. Now that we have an unsuitable microwave for it, I plan to gift it to a friend or family member. One friend purchased it within minutes of seeing it work and tasting the results. Like I said, a totally decent product! Just be aware of its taste limitations and have a big enough microwave.

Excellent Excellent!
I've had this same bacon microwave tray for over 20 years. It was looking raggedy so I decided to get a new one. I thought I would try something different so I purchased a tray where the bacon lies flat in the tray. It was awful. The tray got so hot you had to use potholder. Very difficut to drain due to the ridges in the bottom. So, I went back to this one. Works exactly the same as my previous one. I just put a paper towel over the top to prevent splatter. It has a handle that doesn't get hot, so removal is easy. The grease drips into the tray & is easy to drain into my grease container. I will never change again!

Best microwave bacon tool.
This is hands down the best microwave bacon cooking method I have used. The bacon cooks evenly and you can easily control the doneness by watching during cooking. I just drape a paper towel over the bacon to prevent splatters and then watch the progress through the side. The bacon drippings don't burn so it makes a good save for other cooking. It cleans very easily. We have been using it now for almost two years. We are not hard on equipment yet they seem quite durable while being light weight. We like it so much we now have two of them. I recommend these.

Its ok
Our family loves bacon. And if you're reading this review then most likely yours does too. I was tired of pulling out a frying pan and making a mess on my cooktop. I tried 'baking' or 'broiling' my bacon and that just made a mess inside the oven (more effort to clean than the cooktop!) I remembered my mom cooking bacon in her microwave on a plate with lots of paper towels, and sure that works.. but the amount of waste is crazy! So I read the reviewed and gave this a try. Its ok.First, I tried regular bacon. I tried thick cut bacon and my results were pretty much the same. You drape the bacon slices over these bars and cover with a paper towel. Then you guess how long to cook it for. (I know, microwaves vary) The grease still kind of gets everywhere inside the micro. The bacon ends up folded in half (which is fine if you dont mind half sized pieces). I found that most times the two ends of each slice would somehow end up touching when it cooked and they meld together. I also found that in addition to the regular grease that I expected, there was little bacon flakes that would end up in the base of the cooking tray. I thought maybe the bacon I was cooking was cheap, and that was some sort of smoke flavor? but nope. I tried expensive bacon and still ended up with these little bacon flakes in the base.Havent tried any of the other microwave types so hard to say if they all function like this. for now I would say this is 'ok'.
