Great trash can that looks good, durable, and the lid fits as designed.

Love everything about this except the lift bar for the bag broke after several months. After working with it I can still use it just a little aggravating. I like the wide mouth which fills the whole trash bag, and the way the lid will stay open if needed like while cooking you can just toss into trash without using foot pedal. The bag is easliy removed when full too which is wonderful.

Well, here's my initial review: While this is a classic Rubbermaid quality trash can, and appears well made, there are a couple drawbacks:1) Standard 13-gallon trash bags (I use Glad) are an extremely tight fit--I would almost say they DON'T fit; with the gizmos that are supposed to lock the trash bags in place, by the time I wrestled the trash bag over them, I had to REALLY struggle to get them to go back into place so I could get the lid closed. I'm not looking forward to doing this every time I remove a trash bag, I can tell you. I may end up just pulling the trash bag over the outside edge of the can, as I did with my old one.2) Attaching the lid to the can initially was a challenge. It took me about 10 or 15 minutes to assemble that. There are no instructions of how best to attach the mechanism that makes the step-on foot peddle work, for starters.Update: ten months later, I now hate, hate, HATE this can! The lovely inner band that the bag is supposed to slip over falls off now and has to be wrestled back into place, time after time. Trash can liners don't FIT this band, so changing the bags is a constant struggle. I am in the market for another trash can. I'm bummed, as this was not cheap, and Rubbermaid is usually a good brand, but they should hang their head after producing this can.

Pail is fine But the extra lip, supposedly for keeping the bag in place, seems unnecessary and actually clumsy. Otherwise, the garbage pail itself is fine and the step-on lid is really the reason why I bought it.

I love this trash can so far. the lid opens all the way when you press the pedal. it is so perfect for me and it looks great too.
