Best Sippy Cup We Own!
I read a lot of the other reviews, which were mixed. Several people had mentioned leaking, but after using it for several months I have to say it really does not leak. The inside component that prevents leaking is SOOO much easier to snap in the cup than other sippy cups which often have two pieces inside. This alone, in my opinion, makes this cup awesome. I hate fighting with those interior components. If that part does come out (like if your kid slams it to the floor) it will leak, but it takes a pretty vigorous slam to knock that piece out. Plus you will see it floating in the cup and can intervene before water gets everywhere. We love the OXO brand and have ordered several more of these cups.

Fantastic!!
Perfect for little hands. Does NOT leak!! You'd think that'd be a no brainer but so many cups leak. This one does not. I love that you can remove the rubber sucking insert. My daughter is breastfed and she couldn't get the hang of how itworked, so we function beautifully without it. The cup is wide open enough that its easy to clean and the spout is also a breeze to clean, if doing it by hand. The training lid is a great bonus and we practice with that sometimes. She's been using this cup since 8 months, now she's 15 months. Its the only one we use! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Transitional lid is useless!
I bought this because I was interested in the transitional lid, but I wanted the handles to make the cup easier for my 10 month old daughter to pick up.It turns out that the transitional lid is totally useless. I am not sure what the point of it is- I had thought it was to help them learn how to drink out of a cup without dumping all the water everywhere (or at least slowing down the dumping). Let me tell you, it does not slow down the dumping one bit. I handed it to my daughter, and within one second, I had a huge puddle all over the floor. I am not sure exactly how it provides an advantage over just giving your child a cup like the Doidy Cup - Blue color. Or just a regular cup. If you are thinking about getting this for the transitional lid, I would not.But what about the sippy cup part? I can't speak to the valve because I took it out, but without the valve, this is a decent valve-free sippy cup for kids who never took bottles and parents who don't mind the mess. The liquid in the cup does flow out very easily, and I know that this is a feature that some people are interested in (especially grandmas, who remember when sippy cups were just cups with lids that had spouts in them, no valves or anything). It does make for some messy spills, though, which might not be attractive to others. We also bought the Tilty Sippy Cup, Clear, 7 Ounce, 2 Pack at the same time, and those are the sippy cups we use the most. The Tilty doesn't have handles, but even at 10 months, our daughter has never had problems picking it up or holding it. The Tilty also is valve-free, but the spout has 2 holes instead of 3 (this is how many the Oxo Tot has), so water doesn't come out quite as fast when our daughter turns it upside down or shakes it with glee (in which case, the Tilty will sprinkle). This is an advantage at mealtimes- it means her food doesn't get waterlogged if she turns her cup upside down, which happened the one time I gave her the Oxo Tot cup.The sippy cup part is not a bad product, visually it is very appealing, and the parts are easy to take apart and put together (and clean), but I just don't think it has an advantage over other products in the market.

This is a really good product. It works well because it doesn't spill ...
This is a really good product. It works well because it doesn't spill or leak and our 1-year old doesn't have much trouble drinking from it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's not as durable as I'd like. After about a month of use, it cracked near the lid. Granted, my child chucks the cup out of his high chair onto our wood floors several time each meal. The crack isn't large and it is still usable, but if your child likes throwing their cups around like ours, I'd look for something more durable.

Great for learning to use a cup!
I had a friend who used this for her autistic daughter who was having a hard time learning to use a cup and fell in love with it. I got it for my son and he really took off with it. The flat top with holes in it helps my son by only letting a small amount of water through at a time and also hits his nose if he tilts it too high so that has helped him not over tilt it. It's great quality, came on time, and easy to use and clean. Highly recommend this cup!

not having much luck (with either lid option)
When I ordered this product, I was especially excited about the two lids-- figured my (now 14month) son would graduate from one to the other.I haven't had much luck with either, though. The sippy cup lid has an insert, and when my son drops the sippy cup (even from his standing height-- not that far), the insert part falls out, and water pours freely from the sippy cup then.I also tried the "bonus training lid" part, which is a typical cup with holes around the side, intended to slow the flow. Maybe we didn't practice enough with it. All I know is, my son is getting much better at going slowly with a regular cup, but he realizes there's a special top on this and throws his head back just like he has a regular sippy cup lid, making a huge mess...

I usually love oxo products
I usually love oxo products, not the case this time. I purchased one of these sippy cups for my 13 month old because I was looking for a sippy cup that did not leak. After it arrived, I decided that it was a good cup, leak free, easy to hold, and nice looking- I ordered two more. Within 3 weeks 2/3 were broken. They developed a crack on the cup where the lid screws on, and then a chunk of the plastic rim broke off completely. They began to pour milk out when tipped up for drinking. The plastic is much thinner than the munchkin cups we have after I compared side by side. For a leak free cup the gerber advanced rim has been a good alternative.
