I have an older pata ide he and want to upgrade and clone to this. Will I be able to do this and use an adapter to fit the machine?? Thanks

I don't see why not assuming your OS will recognise the adapter but I bought KingSpec 180GB SSD 2.5" SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive January 2018, after a year of light use the PC began to slow and eventually failed to boot so in 2019 I shelved the PC. During December 22 I found time to check out the PC and replaced the KingSpec with a Kingston SSD; problem solved. The KingSpec failed to respond in a different PC, therfore I cannot recommend this product. Since 2016 I have installed 11 SSDs of other manufacturers across a number of systems with none of these failing so far to date.

Are you confusing SSD with SSHD? SSD is a solid state drive just like a faster internal version of a USB memory stick. SSHD is a solid state hybrid drive which would typically have 8Gb solid state and 120Gb hard drive. I've used both types in a macbook pro and they are faster than the original hard drive although the SSD is by far the fastest but also the most expensive per Gb of storage. Hope this helps.

I wasn't sure if I'd made the right decision to buy this SSD hard drive, because it seemed so cheap. I don't know why I worried. It is great, works well and the quality build is good.I had no issues transfering the operating system, software and files to this SSD hard drive, using free available software download from the internet. As soon as I installed it and turned on my PC it recognised the drive and booted up quickly in to the Windows operating system.I'm really impressed with it's speed.

Excellent SATA M2 SSD

Good price. Never heard of KingSpec but it worked out of the box so what more can you ask for. S great value for money for a product that works. Oh by the way it came with M2 retaining screw, which is better than branded makes I could name.
