Does it also prevent the door from closing, ie keep the gap that you create and prevent fingers getting trapped or cats getting shut in or out?

Hi Louise, thank you for your question! Because Door Buddy has an adjustable fabric strap, it will not prevent the door from closing. Although we have not had any finger pinch injuries using Door Buddy with both of our daughters or cats getting trapped inside or outside the room, we do understand your concern. To help with this, you could use an inexpensive foam finger guard with Door Buddy to keep the door from closing. Can this be used to keep a door opened? We have a door that my twin toddlers love to slam closed. Can this be attached to the door and wall?

Hi, thank you so much for your question. Unfortunately, Door Buddy by itself won't prevent the door from closing. We do have a combo pack (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N77TZ83) that includes a pinch guard that will prevent the door from closing in addition to Door Buddy preventing the door from opening beyond a certain amount. :) The Combo pack should work great for this purpose. We do not recommend installing Door Buddy directly on a wall due to the strength of the adhesive. We recommend installing on the door and door frame only. However, if your only option is installing the one side on the wall then you can prep the surface with 3M Paint Protection film first and then install Door Buddy on top of it. Where are these made?

I don’t know where they are made but my two year old great granddaughter managed to push open the door past it. It didn’t hold. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Will it work for sliding closet doors?
