This particular machine doesn’t, you need the Cricut Maker for materials.

Q: I intend to cut paper/Card do i need the cutting matts?

Hi, I got this for my Mrs, she is the expert I do 3D printing, but Iv seen her cut card quite thick but you do need a mat for this, it has a sticky coating on it to hold card in place. And for the vinyl, you don’t need a mat for the “Smart” vinyl, she was telling me that you can get deeper cutting blades or to “run the cut twice if you haven’t got them. Hope this helps, she still has her Joy but this was well worth the money and the things that she can do with this new machine is amazing
