Excellent all-around thermostat that works well with multiple smart home systems
Unlike most of the reviewers, I did not receive this product for free. That being said, this is a wonderful addition to my smart home! It was pretty easy to setup the hardware. I didn't have the C wire with my old thermostat, but there was an extra wire in the bundle so I connected that to the C wire slot on my furnace and then hooked it up to the Ecobee so I didn't have to use the adapter. The looks are fantastic. It's almost like a small piece of art on my wall. Just like in the product image, it shows big numbers of the current temp that you can read from across the room, and when you walk by it the screen changes to tell you what the set temp is.Software setup was easy as well. There's a guide that takes you through the process. The built-in schedule is a bit limited but I don't use that anyway. I paired it with HomeKit so I can say things like "Hey Siri, what's the temperature in there?", or "Turn up the heat". I also connected it with my SmartThings hub as they've recently added native support for this. The connection with SmartThings is great and allows me to set rules like [when everyone leaves the house, drop the temp to 62] and [when someone arrives heat to 69].Added bonus, my state energy trust has a $50 rebate on purchase of a smart thermostat. So check for local/state incentives!

Great product design & packaging, great service, affordable alternative to Nest!
So glad to have found this!Got a highrise condo that it not always occupied. I have two zones with their individual thermostats. I have to remotely power cycle the A/C system as the condo performs maintenance on the A/C infrastructure. Before, I had to ask neighbors, etc. to check out for me. It was always a hassle.I also wanted real-time access and history of temp and humidity, so I can spot if one of the heat pumps is failing.Enter Ecobee Lite 3.I recommend first downloading their phone app, which is GREAT as it walks you through your specific thermostat hookup. In my case, I have the magical "C" wire - which provides power to the thermostat so I was good to go and ordered the first one. After installation and setup of the first Ecobee - which took less than 30 minutes, most of it messing with the drywall - the system was up and running flawlessly. I immediately ordered the second unit and now have both of them working great!I can control the units four ways: On the thermostat itself, Using the Web Portal, via the Phone App and via HomeKit - as they directly plug into the Apple homekit environment. So I can ask "Siri, what is the living room temperature" and get an answer immediately, and alter thermostat settings as needed - by voice. I undertstand this plugs into Alexa as well, which I do not have.Siri/Homekit is nice to have but I prefer using Ecobee Web Portal and App for remote management.Up and running for a week, great so far.The only minor thing is the "Local Weather" widget of the thermostat does not appear to be able to receive my local weather consistently. That is not crucial but would be nice to stabilize that edge functionality over time.

Great thermostat
I had a programmable thermostat by another manufacturer that I never used because my schedule is completely opposite every week and it was too time consuming to program. My goal was to get a thermostat that I could use the schedule feature to save money on heating and cooling, and that was easy to change whenever I needed to change it. The Ecobee3 lite fit the bill. The scheduling is super easy to change whenever needed, and doesn't take but only a few minutes every week for me to put the next week's schedule in via the very easy to use Android app.I really like the feature that allows me to have the fan run so much every hour even if heat or AC isn't needed. This helps keep my 3-story house's temperature more equalized. For instance, our kitchen is on the 2nd story (also where the thermostat is located). In the winter, if we are using the oven, our 2nd floor gets very warm, and the other two floors remain cold due to the heat not coming on. Having the fan come on for 5 minutes (or whatever you set it to) every hour helps equalize the temperature throughout the house. That is a great feature of this device.Compared to the Ecobee3 (2nd gen), this model does not have the remote sensor. That is the only difference, and it can save you up to $80 to not have that sensor. I think it's a little gimmicky anyway, and I was glad to save the $80. If you think you may want to use a sensor in the future, get the Ecobee3 (2nd gen). You can never add a sensor to the "lite" model.
