Easy to install on all pic rail applications.
It works really well. The hardware is top notch and makes this device flexible to install on most AR configurations no matter the added options. It does not interfere with shooting. And since moving up to a larger caliber, it only makes sense to save the brass, even if it is only for selling to a scrap metal yard

Ugly, but works
Ugly, but keeps you from having to pick up all your brass. You get used to it hanging off the side of the rifle.

Finally!!, NOTE: *true* capacity information included...
I'm shocked that it took so long for this concept to be released from an actual manufacturer. Of course paying 20+ USD for an additional/spare mount is a little absurd if you ask me, the modularity and well thought out design of this product keeps the 4 star rating firm and probably won't involve talking myself too hard into buying a couple spare mounts for other rigs. This purchase was directly related to a Mini-14 project where the Archangel Sparta stock was incorporated. Your conventional Velcro mounted brass catchers fail miserably at this application. The modular aspect of this Caldwell Rail Brass Catcher is _exactly_ what the doctor ordered for capturing the barrage of brass flying from the action of a Mini-14, which as many know gobbles its way through anything you feed them and equally launches the spent casings well into the adjacent county. Digging through western stinging nettles and loganberries for those precious brass are a thing of the past now! Over other brass catchers on the market, this wins hands down for simplicity & modularity. It must be noted that asides from the detents for perpendicular adjustment (width of firearm), it is also adjustable in the parallel fashion where the rail receptacle rides the two inner wire rods. The catcher itself is secured to the heavy duty wired frame by Velcro and the receptacle can be adjusted for nominal positioning with the ejection port &/or optics being used. The included T15 key, though a nice thought, is a horrible fit, so using a real T15 (torx) makes short work of mounting the base & adjusting the linear position.***True case capacities are as follows and are approximate values prior to FTF/FTE (Failure to Feed / Eject Issues)5.7x28 = 1507.62 (.308) = 40 rounds, 3 of the 10 tests captured 50 rounds before FTF/FTE, but crunching the necks on 7.62 brass on a less than average stat constituted no further testing. We hit the 50 round mark comfortably with 7.62x39 as an fyi.5.56 (.223) = 75 rounds, @ 80 rounds, we started crunching necks very repeatably. In conclusion, the "100 round capacity" as advertised is untrue in the actual use category. However, to the defense of someone sitting in an office seeing how many empty 5.56 cases they could fit in before they began falling out constitutes as "capacity", we were able to squeeze 100 empty cases foooorrrr transport purposes?! Sure, that's what they meant. ;)***Would I recommend this product to others? Absolutely!Would I recommend a real T15 & a little medium strength thread locker, most definitely!

Works well and is durable.
I use this on an AR-15 hunting hogs and such at night. I've had the same one for over 6 years and have been hunting about 1,000 nights with it (I have many places nearby to hunt...it's easy to get out several nights a week if not nightly). The mount has worn and doesn't *click* into place anymore, it just slides on but it stays. It sometimes falls off when I lay the rifle next to a hog for a proof picture and I've had to walk back to find it (thank God). I've hung it crossing barbed wire fences but it's still in great shape. I reload so losing brass in fields isn't conducive to that; this is worth it's weight in gold. The quick on-off is great for stowing the rifle in my truck and not lying on a weird angle. I just bought a second one to rig up a day rifle...yeah, I like these catchers. I tried a velcro attached unit from Caldwell for awhile but I hated it...although a friend I hunt with likes his velcro unit just fine.
