Do you need to remove the flashlight from the mount to charge the battery?

You do not. The front and back end are threaded caps to allow the battery to be removed while still mounted.

Will this fit key mod?

It comes with the mlok screws and nuts only but I think you can change it out if you have a spare key mod screws and nut. I have bought some stuff that come with both set up. Hope it help!
