The only problems I’ve had are my own when choosing which one I needed and not having the best location available for maximum benefit. I needed something to try and help cut down pollen carried in off clothes and we had less rain and more dust this past year and I’m glad I bought it. Did it eliminate the dust, no the amount brought in on a daily basis is higher than other places I’ve lived and I should have considered that. I’ve changed the filter sooner than recommended in order to keep it working and not burn out or lose suction from keeping it on the setting recommended for areas when there’s more air movement, I did read some of the lower rated reviews and I don’t know what happened with theirs. Mine sits on a plant stand I had and my husband and I have knocked it over, it came apart but nothing broke, sounded the same…quite… still felt the air flow. I’m also happy with BlueAir filter cost. Love the pre filter!!! You can see how much dust it’s removing without taking anything apart to see how or if it’s working it’s obvious and it’s light enough to take outside when removing for washing. I’ve just hand washed mine and air dried, it’s not thick to allow air flow and drys quickly, just to have it last longer. Washed several times in the past year and no need to replace still looks the same.

Purifies air as promised. Quiet on low and some fan sound on high, hardly noticeable. Simple and sleek design, not too big or too small, good for bedroom use. Hand-washable fabric pre-filter available in different colors along with affordable HEPA filter replacements (about one filter change per year) makes this purifier a great buy. Blueair is now my first choice for air purifiers!

I use this in my ferrets room and it has drastically reduced the smell. I hardly smell them at all any more.

I like the effectiveness of this air purifier so as far as performance goes, I think it should have five stars. Since there’s no way of testing air quality and we just have to go on faith, I’m guessing that it’s a good quality machine. However, clearly it was designed with aesthetics in mind and not practicality. It’s difficult to turn on an off or to know how to turn it higher or lower. You do this with a series of taps on the top ring. It’s very Star Trek in a very unnecessary way. I love Star Trek. I love everything about Star Trek. I don’t think even they would’ve kept this on the enterprise because it’s too annoying to use , however, having said that I just turned mine on low and keep it on all the time. I have noticed that environmental allergies bother me much less this year. If you are into the super modern look and have the gray walls that all designers think everyone should have now, you might love this look and usage facility might not bother you. I don’t think an older person would be able to use this easily. The only thing that lets you know if it’s on or off is a light that shines for a moment when you tap it. There is delay in the action so you don’t know if you’ve actually turned it up higher or turned it off for a few seconds, so if you’re impatient like me and tap it again, you’ll probably accidentally turn it off and have to start all over again . Again, weird design, leaving you confused. Is very silent and that’s a big plus. It probably deserves one more star, but I’m too annoyed with the lack of the on and off clarity to increase my stars. Here’s an idea, how about somebody make a vintage looking air purifier with simple on off switches, make it look like a vintage radio. I bet that would be a big seller, the nice old-fashioned knobs. On and off.I have no idea how I’m going to change the filter when it’s time to change it, the whole thing is a mystery as to how it’s assembled, and I wish they would just include a few extra filters with the purchase so then you weren’t trying to figure out what kind of machine you have and which kind of filters to buy six months later. I’d be willing to pay extra to have the extra filters delivered with the purchase. If I sound annoyed it’s because I am. But I’m sure the machine is good quality.Updated review 9/11/24: The machine is actually silent on low. It’s been on all day and I didn’t even know it. You literally cannot hear it at all on its lowest setting. It also did a great job getting rid of a smell that was from something burned in my kitchen. So it is a very effective machine. I also now am wondering if the thing that I found fault with is actually a benefit to older people with arthritis if they cannot turn a knob, then just tapping the top might be very helpful to them. In fact, anyone with mobility issues could put this beside their bed and just tap it at night in the dark and it would be easy to use for them. Because it is silent, it will not work for you as a white noise machine. I’m now going to add a star. Xo

I waited two months before leaving a review and all I can say is it truly works. You can see in the picture where the pre filter and filter is brown with dirt/dust/allergens. The air is always fresh and the filter is so quiet and on its highest setting makes for a good white noise.
