This Bible is so good!! The footnotes are super detailed and really help you to fully understand what you’re reading, I would definitely recommend it. So happy with my purchase

This study bible is not suitable for daily reading for pleasure because the amount of notes and annotations would be distracting.Having said that, Scott Hahn's notes and word studies are comprehensive and written in a form that is easy to understand for those who have an interest in the subject but do not have degrees in biblical studies. There are some exceedingly interesting word studies too, such as the significance of the phrase 'first born' or the concept of 'covenant', which have a historical meaning far richer than the way we use such words and phrases today.Physically, the book is bound very well, the paper is a pleasing weight and colour (easy on the eyes) and the font is clear. The two ribbon bookmarkers are very useful and the leather binding of of high quality. This book, although it is just the New Testament, is larger and heavier than an average complete bible.A superb reference tool of premium, durable high quality.

Great background knowledge to the Bible, very easy to uderstand, yet very deep. I'm waiting for the Old Testament version which is due ot soon.

This book is amazing. It gives you a great insight to the authors of the books of the New Testament - telling you when they wrote, for what audience, how they had acquired their information, and much more. It has helped me to grow in knowledge and understanding of the tense and complex world of Jesus under Roman rule (for example, explaining who the Pharisees, the Herodians, and the Sadducees were and how they all viewed life - and how they viewed Jesus). It is well set out, has a beautiful cover, and is light enough in weight to handle comfortably when reading it.

This NT study Bible, used in conjunction with the Scott Hahn Catholic Bible Dictionary, has really opened up the scriptures for me. The paper is lovely and thick so writing and highlighting do not bleed through. The type set is clear and large, and the cream paper makes for easy on the eyes studying. I love the notes, and the 'assignments'. The only trouble is I only read a few lines of the bible now before I get side tracked delving into that verse, i.e it is taking me 10 times as long to read BUT, the fruit that this study is bearing is astounding. What a book, every Catholic should study the bible in more depth using this Bible. Wish they did the OT in one book!

This is an absolutely wonderful book. If you want to really drink the word of God this is the book for you. The authors love of their faith and knowledge shines through. Ideal for people that haven't done a lot of formal or informal bible reading/study as well as people who have. The beauty of this book cannot be overstated. Thick, creamy strong pages, colour maps, and the external is strong and beautiful too. A real credit to God and to the authors. Thanks Ignatius and Amazon fantastic as ever, top class service and delivery. Five out of five all the way!

Excellent NT study edition of the respected RSV translation, by a competent Biblical scholar. It is an invaluable tool as an aid to serious Bible study and to one's devotional life: I would say it is a "must-have" for every Catholic (and others too!). Mine is the hardback version, which as a book is well made and durable, with consistently good quality print on paper which is not too thin - a pleasure to handle and use.

This edition is an excellent study guide to the NT, and will be enjoyed by those who believe the Bible is not in error and was inspired by God.It is a pity the hard copy edition was damaged when it arrived, as were two of the 4 items I ordered.Amazon's deliveries are now seldom without some damage.
