XFastenButyl Sealing Tape, White, 1/8-In x 3/4-In x 30-Foot Plumbers Putty Tape, RV and Boat Sealant

It so hard to find tape that works. I found this tape does work and is strong and really sticky.

The roll of seal tape reminds me of putty flattened out into a make-shift roll, looks a bit messy and an unusual product to store. I recommend some type of ziplock back in a cool storage closet.The application of the putty-type product was made easier with a tool that facilitates putty use, playing with it with your fingers only goes so far for tight spots such as noticeable gaps between the apartment front door frame and the base threshold.Yes, the seat tape putty does the job and is paintable. Exterior usage is noticeably heat resistance poor, it gets a bit gooey when the front door is exposed to long periods of full sunlight in the summer. However indoor part of the seal putty job holds fine, no melting.For the money it’s a useful product, it does seal off the elements (and outdoor insects such as spiders) yet needs more manufacturer development to improve heat resistance to full sun exposure.

Best thing is it’s white and blends in with my RV’s color. Easy to apply in warm weather and totally water proof. Sticks on any surface easily. I like that it can be peaked off if necessary.

This stuff is soft and squishy and on a reel with wax paper separating the product. The last order I received, the reel was thrown in with another box and by the time it arrived the reel was square and the product was squeezed out of one side of the first 9 layers...all of this was unusable. I returned that and ordered two more reels. I was impressed as I opened the box and found some padding. Then I noticed that both reels would not lay flat in the box. They were oriented such that the first 5 layers are now inconsistent thickness on both reels.Like I said, this is a great product and make sure you order 2x more than you think you need as you will lose a lot from the shipping process. If you can wait until winter, the stuff hardens with cold temperatures and it may survive the shipping.

I used this to seal a jet tub window that was slightly leaking at the edges. I could not caulk it. The “tape” was little tricky to handle as it is very stretchy, but with patience and a little skill it is very manageable.

This is good stuff. Keep in cool dry area when not in use.
