Handy form, but installation not always straightforward.
Coming at this from the point of view of someone who doesn't want to get too involved in the technicalities, I find it difficult to endorse this Bluetooth adaptor wholeheartedly, just because it didn't work straight out of the 'box'. On the other hand, I don't want to condemn it for characteristics that might be found with any such device in the same situation.I already had a similar Bluetooth 5.1 adaptor working on the Windows 10 PC. Replacing it with the Maxuni caused problems, as did also plugging both in together. There is clearly some conflict. The new device seems not to have removed the older one when installing, but I am not qualified to investigate what exactly has gone on, and am disinclined to tinker with drivers and settings that I don't fully understand. It's not easy to know which one you're looking at in the device manager. That said, others will have a perfectly painless experience with the adaptor, which is tiny, but nicely shaped to make it easy to handle. The accompanying documentation is brief but clear. I am sure that with more work, I can get this working smoothly, so I am giving it a neutral rating. The current price of about £6.50 including a 50% discount voucher is very little for a device that potentially can do so much.

Highly Recommended!
I recently tested out four different USB Bluetooth dongles; two different units from Maxuni, one Ugreen and one Zexmte device (see pictures). The first three are 5.3 devices and the latter a 5.1. I only have access to Windows 10 presently, so can’t speak to reliability/compatibility on other operating systems, but tested each device on two PCs with bluetooth keyboards and touchpads, speakers, a controller and a mouse. All these items worked with every dongle. What are the key differences between them? Well, one Maxuni dongle has a loop for a lanyard/wrist strap and an LED light, and the other doesn’t. Apart from that they seem to be identical in performance. The other two dongles also have an LED light, and the Ugreen has an extended ‘aerial’. I couldn’t see any real difference in terms of performance over the kind of distance you’d need to use a keyboard or mouse - perhaps for a speaker which is going to be in another room you might want to consider the Ugreen - but my least favourite was the Zexmte. Every other device was simply plug and play, but that one required a system restart. Also, if I’d left a bluetooth keyboard or mouse, etc. still paired from the previous dongle I was testing, Windows would refuse to disconnect it until I plugged the dongle I’d paired it with back in. Perhaps this was because the Zexmte is bluetooth 5.1 and the others are 5.3 - or that’s just how Windows works - but either way it was a bit of a pain and not an issue I had encountered with the others. If had to pick only one I’d go for either of the Maxuni USB dongles; both worked flawlessly just by plugging them in, which is what you want! Oddly, the version with the light and strap loop is currently a pound cheaper than the simpler one, so you might as well pick that one, but whichever is cheaper at the time is what I’d choose (unless you really need to see an activity light).

Must Try Harder
This is not a straight forward installation, you will need to know what you are doing in the Device Manager to install this puppy.Once installed its fine, disable onboard bluetooth prior to installing.

Great Value & Easy Installation
This Bluetooth 5.3 dongle is currently available with a 50% off voucher bringing the price down to £6.50 and that's great value. The dongle itself is ver compact, about the size of a very small thumbdrive but shaped to make it easy to remove and feels tough enough to survive the day to day stresses of being plugged into a laptop.Installation was plug and play under Windows 10 with no drivers or other intervention needed. Paring to my headphones and a tablet went smoothly and the range seems as good as I could hope for Bluetooth (good enough to go into another room in my house without getting disconnected. Reconnecting previous devices has been fast and free of problems.Sound quality (admittedly through my cheap, spare pair, bone conduction headphones) is great, good enough that the limitation is the headphones rather than the Bluetooth and I've transferred some large video files, which while slow compared to cable or LAN was successfully completed.Good price, works as expected and I've not had any problems. What's not to like?
