Total length is 10 inches and the blades are about 4.25 inches. Very sharp and sail through fabric well.

Q: Can left handlers use them?

Actually these are symmetrical so you can use them if left handed, which i am and do use them

Q: What advantages does this fabric scissors have over, say, a train, which I can also afford?

They are sharp a good weight for tailoring and dressmaking and of high quality . If you can afford a train why do you need tailoring scissors ?
